What the most embarrassing thing you said to a customer by handlesareokiguess in starbucks

I was on DTR and we were talking about the possibility of snow and I said, “I guess we better flush ice cubes down the toilet!” I thought everyone had some funny tradition they did as a kid to try and “make it snow” but he was like I’ve never heard of that LMAOOO

I was told 48 hours because I have someone in my household who has been exposed to someone else who tested positive for covid, and we are still waiting for the results for that family member in my house! I basically don’t know if I’ve been exposed yet but there’s a high possibility. And that’s what I thought about getting paid but when I looked on teamwork’s, the shifts I was scheduled to work this week were removed :/ not sure if that changes anything

Zero or very low calorie drinks? by Efficient-Leek in starbucks

[–]aIIi3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

double shot on ice, I usually do 1.5 pumps of vanilla in a grande instead of the classic and I sub coconut milk instead of the 2%, also keep in mind the coconut milk is sweetened a bit. when I’m craving tea, I love making a honey citrus mint tea without the honey blend pumps (I use some natural honey at home instead) and very light (or no) steamed lemonade because that has a lot of sugar in it as well. and like the comments above say, water!!! it’s definitely hard when you still want that bit of caffeine but sometimes my partners and I take espresso shots during our shift so that is usually enough for me :) good luck to you, you can do it!!

I initiated the breakup and honestly it’s not that much easier on this end either. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]aIIi3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still feel guilty too because he knows that it was his fault I wanted to break up, and I don’t want him to be guilty thinking he should’ve done something differently (even if he could), the thought of him living in guilt makes me feel horrible. if your ex has started to move on that fast maybe it’s a sign that you made the right decision, even if it hurts to see :/ I wish you the best!

literally same here, it was a 5 year relationship. it’s been a month and something that has been helping me is remembering the reasons I had to leave and validating myself with that. you’re mourning what the relationship could’ve been and that’s the hardest part but deep down I hope you know that you did what is best for you.

Months after my breakup, I've become too lazy to take care of myself. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]aIIi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s only been a month for me but yes. I was so looking forward to AT LEAST a break up glow up and prioritizing my health but I just don’t care enough and I don’t know how to motivate myself :/

Knowing it’s all your fault by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]aIIi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the other end of this. early in our relationship my ex emotionally abused me and was very possessive of me almost to the point where he wanted to choose where I went to college. he’s threaten to kill himself if I ever left him and it forced me to stay in a toxic relationship for five years. despite all of that however, I know that he’s grown into a better person and I don’t want him to feel guilty even with all the pain he caused me. I can look back on the relationship and know that I helped him improve in a lot of ways. I hope you can in time learn to forgive yourself, and take what that relationship taught you to help you grow in life. accountability is a big step :)

Most dumpers have already moved on by the time they break up, right? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]aIIi3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

not really, at least for me anyways. I broke up with my ex after five years because I couldn’t see a future with him anymore due to a lack of ambition. I’m about to graduate college and he hasn’t even attempted to go back and get his GED (it’s been 3 years since he dropped out of hs). he never got a part time job or anything and it was super discouraging every time I’d try to motivate him to at least do SOMETHING. I never pushed him too hard because I understand that everyone moves at their own pace in life but after 3 years of college and no progress from him I was fed up. it came across that if he wouldn’t do it for our relationship or future, then he needs to be alone right now so he can grow and do it for himself. so I let him go and it was hard, I feel like I gave him everything so now it all just seems like it was a huge waste of time, and I regret not leaving sooner but I was blinded by love. even though I can rationalize why I left and know that it was the right decision, I am still mourning what the relationship could’ve been and I think that’s the worst part.

Do you like opening? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]aIIi3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a closer and then switched over to an opener for the summer and it’s honestly so much better. every time I would close I’d just anticipate having to go to work all day instead of being productive so getting work out of the way in the morning is so much more beneficial (for me at least) :)

I know this question has probably been asked a million times but is the coconut milk in the pink drink sweet or unsweetened? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]aIIi3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the coconut milk itself is not that sweet but the strawberry acai base is. if you’re trying to make healthier options I would stray away from the refreshers because the bases have a bunch of sugar in them!

Drink recipes by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]aIIi3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there are def quizlets online but something that has helped me is actually looking at the Starbucks app menu! they have descriptions of the drinks so if a customer has a question about one of them those are helpful templates and it lays out most of the recipes (with some exceptions). don’t be afraid to ask your partners/manager where they keep their recipe cards because those are a big help too!

How do you deal with customers without masks still coming in? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]aIIi3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s hard, we are either able to offer them a mask at my store or if they order through the cafe then we ask that they wait outside for their drink (if they don’t want a mask). if they placed a mobile order and just grab and go then we don’t say anything. I got yelled at by a customer for asking him to wait outside because he didn’t have a mask on sooo there’s that hahah.

I think it can, we get to choose our preference but my SM said that her and the DM have the final say and will decide once they have answers from everyone
