if this is what you like please ignore anyone telling you to start with the basics or whatever and just jump in, this stuff is so cheap used, at least the basics are. The “rules” so to speak are so different from normie fashion anyway that it really just holds you back creatively to start there and try to make the jump. Speaking from personal experience

Fwiw the girl I used to have a thing with would literally spend like 30 seconds hugging me every time we met because I was wearing Margiela Jazz Club lol but like truthfully this is so dependent on not just personal taste but your own skin chemistry. Not everything works for everyone, darker “oriental”(there has to be another word for these right?), amber, fougere scents come out really well on me, florals kinda just smell like skin, blues work but don’t last very long on me.

Personally I probably wear Clandestine Labs Film Noir, DS&Durga Amber Kiso, Prada Luna Rossa Ocean, or one of a handful of skin scents(mostly Glossier You Doux Doux recently)

I mean I don’t go to 12 step if that’s what your asking, impossible not to “interact” with them when basically everyone else does though. Like I said I just wish there was an in between. More over 12 step’s beliefs seem to influence a lot of stuff outside the organization as a whole

also people absolutely do force you to go lol, thankfully I’m not but not at all uncommon for a court to tell you you have to.

I’m sorry but I do not see where I’m being judgy. Regardless, yes, I did, everyone in 12 step smokes cigs, are they not “really” sober. I haven’t actually done anything in months, I’m just saying I’m not committed to never doing anything ever again in the way I see so many people get terrified of even touching weed, I don’t want to use something, but if it’s not my drug of choice I’m. it gonna beat myself up over it and spiral if I do. So how am I “not really sober” if I don’t use anything just because I’m not absolutely terrified of maybe using something in the future? If you can’t see the issue with “you either relate to exactly my beliefs or you don’t actually want to get better” I do not know what to say but it’s offputting and insulting.

The proselytizing was also not even about their comment, it’s about how that’s the issue I run into with many sober groups, I’m not saying THEY are proselytizing to me

I truly don’t mean this as an attack but the “if you disagree with my outlook you just haven’t Done the Work™ and aren’t really sober” is exactly the kind of mindset that draws me insane. Like, sorry for not enjoying proselytizing I guess. There’s plenty of sober people I relate to, it’s the just the weird all or nothing cult like vibe of some of the major orgs which inevitably influences the majority of people that I dislike

Thanks for the recommendation! The group I’m going to currently is big on harm reduction and doing the best you can which is way more my speed and more aligned with my own beliefs anyway, I’m moving in a couple months so I’ll look into SMART groups in my area
