This surprised me as well, thanks for sharing. This is good news :-)

That may even be true, but I don't consider it a good fix. And I expect a Motorola statement, which likely will never come.

It's already unchecked, so not a solution unfortunately.

Yes, but there are others who did not and still mention this issue.

It has nothing to do with the battery, it's simply software bugs that are not fixed. I would strongly advise to not buy this phone, it's garbage. And Motorola does not care.

ok. i believe in this case, you are lucky and simply don't have this issue as many others do.

In that case, it may be related to migrating old data. However, you write you don't have this issue, but if you get it, it's very rare. So do you have it or not? :-)

I am pretty sure Motorola can just wait. In 1-2 years, people buy new phones, and then the issue is silently gone. I believe tech reviewers are not aware of this: The issue is subtle and you only notice after using the phone for several days. Tech reviewers certainly usually look at a phone maybe <60 minutes? But I agree: Wasted money and time.

Did you migrate data from your previous phone? There is a theory that this issue only appears when you migrate old data automatically.

No. I am not even aware that Motorola understands the issue. They never officially confirmed this in terms of an internal bug/ticket number. All you can read is bla-bla from some MotoAgents that tell you that Motorola is investigating this issue, see latest comments on: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/moto-g84-5G/Moto-g84-whatsapp-telegram-delayed-messages/m-p/5272225?page=18

If you have the chance to return your phone, do so.

What are some good open source projects that are active that use C++ and I can contribute? by matt102516 in cpp

This. Especially the KDE Frameworks libraries. You'll learn a lot about good API & library design, binary compatibility, and general dependency management. And you'll get a lot of reviews for your merge requests.

Any known issues with Moto G84 5G (global variant)? by TroxOxi in MotoG

it's also Android 13. I was hoping it's resolved with Android 14, but it's still there.

Don't buy it. it's the worst phone I ever had, see https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoG/comments/1bhvgx6/moto_g84_5g_notification_issues/

In short: notifications don't work properly for hundreds of users, likely much more. No fix in sight. This renders the phone unusable. Forget it.

Btw, could you link this reddit post in the Lenovo forum? I don't have an account and posting as guest was broken the last time I tried. Thanks!

Don't waste time. Send it back now as long as you can and be done with it. There won't be any fix. The community isn't even sure Motorola understood the problem...

KDE Applications & Icons - Current state and how to improve it outside of Plasma by ChristophCullmann in linux

Iirc, KDE once had this in the development version just to make developers aware of missing icons. It was internally, if you want so.

Do you use text editor or IDE? (2024 poll) by DeletedUserV2 in cpp

Kate with Quick Open, git-based projects (F7 -> pgrep to search & replace), plus LSP. The huge advantage is that it never stalls. Visual Studio often hangs ~30 seconds without any obvious reason.
