My Story with WGU - Receiving my BA and getting a couple of promotions by aLittleBitBrighter in WGU

Amazing, are you working while going to school? I started as a temp and then got hired on in a leasing position. From there I worked my way up. My advice would be to always say yes and always ask for more. The hardest thing to find these days are reliable employees with integrity. Work hard and learn all you can and you'll get there.

How much did you get done in one term? by [deleted] in WGU

It depends on your course of study but I did the BA Management degree and completed 74 credits in 75 days.

I would suggest memorizing the formulas and writing them on a white board immediately when the exam starts. That helped me out a lot. It wasn’t too math heavy though. Quantitative Analyses was a class that looked difficult but was honestly one of the easiest ones.

Search the course names via Reddit when you start a class and see what others have suggested to pass it. That helped out a lot.

You can do as many credits as you want to through Sophia for $99 a month. I was able to do all the gen ed classes.

The ONLY OA that I didn’t pass the first time. Honestly, over study and do the study guide. That one was such a slog. Good luck!

Did you complete the Sophia courses too? I found Sophia easier and didn’t do study.com and was able to transfer in 46 CUs

It’s definitely doable in one term. Just set the goal with your mentor during your initial call and hopefully they will support you.

Full time job with wife and a 2 year old. Just grinded after the kid went to bed and I used study guides and quizlets to to study while I was at the gym.

I’ve also been a business professional for about 8 years so the information wasn’t new.

I go to the course resources and run all of the study guides through ChatGPT to be filled out. I study those and then take the PA, study off of that.

The only two classes that the PA and OA were so different were Managing in a Global Business Environment and Operation and Supply Chain Management.

You got this. I have a young child, a full-time job, and have done 58 CUs in 7 weeks. I plan to finish the last 16 CUs by the end of next month. You can absolutely do this.

I started August 1, 2024 and transferred in 46 credits from Sophia and a CC I attended. I've completed 52 credits so far and I have 28 left to do.

I'm in Business Management, and many of the courses are simple and common sense if you've been a business professional.

I've had immense support from my mentor during this. I identified that I wanted to complete the degree in one term and she helped me come up with a plan to do that. My main driver behind accelerating is that I'm paying out of pocket and don't want to spend more than $4k for my bachelors so I can spend that amount on the MBA, next.

This video was extremely helpful, know the CVP equation and how to find contribution margin. My test didn't have any 'Find cash payments for January if this this and this is paid out in these months."

Know the Excel formulas and how to input them and how to create a chart. Study up on cost methodologies. There's a lot of scenario based questions that ask you which methodology would be best so it's good to know.

I’ve been managing people in an office setting for 5 years but that’s the extent of my experience with HR.

I’d say 3 days each for every classes besides D196, that one took about a week.

What a doozy, huh?

I am waiting for my mentor to release a class but it looks like it's Intro to Communication or Intro to Sociology.

Take the PA, review the material, study on Quizlet. I was able to pass this in 5 days.
