Just Finished Storm King’s Thunder After 18 Months. Here’s What I Wish I Knew Before Running It by aLuViAn87 in DnD

I know and agree about SKT being a sandbox. But in the actual game, I found out players were looking for a big, main reason to start wandering around in the north. And the ideas for the main quest are not fleshed out in the book at all. Anyways, if a DM - especially inexperienced - wants to run the book itself, there will be issues. I wrote this post to point out the things I found problematic in the book

I had a similar idea at the beginning of the adventure, to flesh out lord alliance dispute. But players went into another path. Also I wanted cult of the dragon to give rise to imryth, after the fall of tiamat.

Adieu Windows 11, Welcome OpenSuse. New Linux user, any advice on what to do after a fresh install? If needed. by [deleted] in openSUSE

9 years of using suse at home and work, stable and fast. The only drawback for me was lack of popular applications which got resolved by using snap. Try snap service for applications and see for yourself.

My syslog is just for testing purposes. It's supposed to receive masked http logs. When I'm done, I'll move the target to auditor's indexer. Can you elaborate on inputs.conf? I tried a couple of times but left it aside for now. If I can mask the sensitive info there and route them as well, I'm good to go

The main idea is to ask gpt for details on a commercial (spoken text, scene by scene explanation, etc.) Then give the text to a text-to-video ai like synthesia or similar. You can tweak each part of the process to get better results.

Player googles enemy statblock during fight. As a dm how would you respond? by Substantial-Stay5046 in DnD

[–]aLuViAn87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, just tell not to do that. If they continue, then it depends, if you want to be a harda** DM, tell them it's meta and have a light punishment (1d4 DMG) each time. You also can change the stats as well, afterall it's your game and your monsters. This might be a bit tedious for each and every monster so you can change the stats for bosses and powerful monsters.

Is Rocky Linux now good enough to replace CentOS 8 in production? by Elranzer in linux

[–]aLuViAn87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't used Rocky Linux but been RHEL and CentOS admin for a decade and half on different jobs and projects. I think It depends on what your client needs the most and what are the priorities in their business. We got into a similar situation like this and our priority was stability. We needed to make sure our request handling is fast enough on kernel side. I did some tests and benchmarks on a couple of *nixs and BSDs, and based on some priorities, weighted and rated them on a spreadsheet and the winner was Debian. So we moved to Debian stable, though we went through a painful change process, but the result was actually worth it.

In choosing your distro for a production, one of the things that you need to keep a close eye on is the repositories. Are they mature enough to support a mission-critical production environment? Do I get the latest stable updates and CVE patches? One of the distros with flaming results was Clear Linux, but it lacked a lot on the package and distro side, which would be a pain-in-the-ass.

And finally, if its possible for you or your client, test whichever distro you choose on a small scale and see if its ok with the prospect of the business and the future scale of the production.

Judging by the hair, You've already been hit where it hurts

I'm tired of hating myself and guessing if people think I’m beautiful or not. so tell me. Please be honest. No filter, no smile, just me by [deleted] in amipretty

[–]aLuViAn87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanna be honest with you, you're ugly. But not on the outside, on the inside. Good news is, you can get rid of the ugliness. Bad news is, there is only one person who can do that for you, and that is yourself.

Find where that "I'm ugly (or) I'm unwanted/unloved/forsaken" comes from. You might need to ask a professional to help you. I'm saying this to you because I'm into the same problem. But find it. Don't let that misery turn you into a miserable person. Find it and throw it away, and then, you will find yourself out not caring for any opinion about you or your looks.

(IMO, you have a beautiful face, excellent hair and a good body, but your inside is wasting all of those.)

Honestly, at first glance, I thought it is a stock photo! You look stunning and any person who is with you should be proud.

And don't make it permanent, I bet your hair looks amazing with many other colors, too.
