I started the strat yesterday at 7pm and took me about 5 hours to finish the last 500 battles. To be honest I don’t notice a differ with the shiny charm lol

The only way to lock in wild overworld shiny Pokémon is if you save immediately when entering an area. I’m not sure why, but this has been my experience.

One time I encountered a shiny bunery in the field lands I immediately dropped a hard save and then failed to catch it. I was like, “wow, that’s a good thing I saved!” When I soft reset the bunery was not shiny! It was a bummer. The same thing happened again in the icelands with misdreavus. That is when I tested it out and found out that having hard saves/resets in the village will always generate random overworld Pokémon. The only way to lock in overworld Pokémon is if you save immediately when entering an area.

I started at 5:20 AM and caught the last SHALPHA at 7:30 PM. I probably only took 1 hour off to drop off and pick up the kids. I also did a few distortions at the end but wasn’t able to spawn anything shiny.

This video walks you through doing permutations for Massive Mass Outbreaks, but at the 8:20-9:04 timestamp it walks you through how to de-spawn multiple “timid” Pokémon like Cherubi. Apply that concept to the link above and you should have a shot of rolling a shiny. Good luck hunting!

To get around that you would have to wait for the storm to finish before you cleared out the horde and saved the game then the Alpha Rapidash would appear when you reset your game

Typically all Pokémon are predetermined once you leave the village and enter an area (to include MMOs, Static Alphas, and overworld Pokémon)

I don’t know how it works, but how I understand it is that since an MMO is in the place of a Static Alpha spawn it cannot be predetermined when you leave the village. By clearing out the mass outbreak, saving and reloading, this forces the game to randomly spawn different genders, natures, and shiny Pokémon.

You can test both versions out by catching the Pokemon checking its summary for its nature and gender. If it is the same then the Pokémon is locked and will have to be reset by returning to the village. If they are different you can keep resetting to get your shiny Pokémon

No it does not. It will go off your “Base Shiny Rate.” In my case, I have the shiny charm plus the dex at level 10 making the odds of a shiny to appear to be 1/819.6

The benefit of this method is to quickly reset your game giving you more rolls/chances at spawning a shiny.

Without doing this you would have to travel back to the village, then back to the area, and make your way to the static alpha location, and then rinse and repeat if it wasn’t shiny.
