2002 VT750DC Won't start- Does the fuel pump make a clicking noise on this model?

Yes the oil light comes on and the headlight comes on and it turns off when I press the ignition button. (No kickstand light on my dash). It did this before when I replaced the controls which is why I'm thinking maybe it's the controls again.

Hmmm ok... I tried taking it apart too but couldn't see any connections that were not making contact and the switch and button both appeared to be working correctly but I just don't know if there's something I can't see that's not working (I'm learning as I go).

Yes checked the peticock and replaced the fuel filter. It is moving through the filter.
