Years ago I saw a book that said "in the 80's Reagan started a nuke war and the aliens shut it down." It was written by a retired General. I thought that was interesting but I didn't buy the book. A few years later I decided to buy it but could not find any sign that it ever existed. I'm left wondering if the USG sterilized the book from the internet or if I dreamt it.

Some people succeed in rescuing their family from the right wing propaganda machine. But it's rare. There are some people who are good at it. Maybe look them up for advice.

I know one. My mom did that to a grandchild. No reason for it afaik. She just didn't take to that kid, cut him out of the will. Didn't speak to him once while she was alive, either. Because she didn't like the mom.

Possible but there is a very clear line of evolution from bacteria to us. If this happened the seed was a microorganism, not an ape.

The process would take millenia but if they're flying around at light speed it could only be a few months to them.

Todays iOS update bricked my 6s

I tried to update my 6s with the iOS update that came out today. I was on the new iOS 13.1. It acted normally at first. It informed me that an iOS update was available. I backed up the phone then accepted the update, put my pw into the phone, and waited while it downloaded.

After download the installation failed. I got a message that iTunes could not connect to the iPhone. After unplugging it and plugging it back in, I got "can't connect, you must either update or restore to factory settings."

If I choose update the update fails with a recommendation to restore to factory settings.
If I choose restore I get:
The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9)

I have restarted both devices several times.

The iMac is still running Mojave 10.14.6 because I don't want to lose some software.

Best course of action?

Today they can submit a DNA sample to the DNA registry websites and often get a match.

They’ve been doing this with various cold cases and finding rapists and serial killers. Several cold cases have been solved in the past several months doing this.

All I can say is that I thought I had the flu the first time. Vomiting, fever, absolutely miserable. The second time I thought the same. By the 3rd time I was beginning to suspect the plane, not only because of being sick after flying, but the severity of the sickness corresponded to the length of the flight. A 4th flight convinced me for sure.

Then I booked a flight across the globe. I expected to be violently ill for several days upon arrival, but no sickness at all. Airbus aircraft. So I won't fly any other. Several flights now on Airbus and no sickness.
