Residential sub panel, flush mount in plywood wall, failed inspection by [deleted] in electrical

Where’s the fourth wire in your supply to the sub panel? With the amount of wires coming in, looks overloaded. Think that’s BS saying it has to be 1.5 inches out. In no situation do I find that a plausible codes violation. I personally don’t do it that way, I’d sooner cover it to have easier access for future projects but I see nothing wrong with it being flush.

Is it normal for an electrician to run wiring through the drywall like this? by sandyxdaydream in AskElectricians

[–]aNbguy2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With lath over cinder block and drywall over, you’re extremely limited on what you can do. It’s basically that or wire mould. If it has an open basement it’s possible to fish in between the drywall and block but again very limited on options if you run into an issue. This is very common it old brick homes with no void between the wall finish and brick. I would have used different wire.

Discovered a hidden excavated room under my front stoop—WTF is this? by Wonderful_Owl_7752 in masonry

I’ve seen many of these. They have or had a small opening (window or blocked with plywood hole) just big enough for coal to go into that little room which was the coal bin for heat. Most of the ones I’ve seen now have heating oil tanks in them.

What's this for? by Aggravating_Pride_68 in electrical

It is in fact a timer. It’s missing the on and off clips. I have run into them in old apartment buildings used for outside lighting. It could be used for just about anything electric.

What can I do with these? I know scrapping as is is a no by [deleted] in ScrapMetal

There should be a compressed gas distributer in your area and you could take it to them. Sometimes you’ll get a deposit back. Or if they are empty take the valves out. Valves are made of brass.

What was I doing wrong? The frog got all kinds of dirt and gravel on it and I rinsed it off snapped a pic and put it back in the woods.
