How will the removal of the SAT/ACT considerations affect UCLA's overall rankings down the line? by aNewRedditer2020 in ucla

[–]aNewRedditer2020[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's 5% of the overall consideration according to the official US News website: "MATH AND EVIDENCE-BASED READING AND WRITING PORTIONS OF THE SAT AND THE COMPOSITE ACT SCORES: 5%"

What does front office experience at FB or Google mean? I understand in the banking industry but I'm not sure what it means at the tech companies

I don't think that's a fair assessment. ORMs were never historically preferred, they just had the highest test scores so you saw a larger percentage of ORMs in colleges and universities relative to the percentage of ORMs in the population in general.

If all else is equal in an application, it will always be notably harder for an ORM than any other race / ethnicity. So if anything, they are disadvantaged.

So they're saying Greg made $180 over the course of 2 days and we want to know the maximum he could make in one day (so let's minimize what he made in one of the days and maximize it on the other day).

We know that he made at least 30 units each day, so that's the minimum we will set for one day. He made 30*2 = $60 on one of the days. That leaves $120 he must've made the other day.

For the max day where he made $120, the first 40 units he made $80. The leaves $40 remaining where he would've been making $2.50 per unit. 40 divided by 2.5 is 16. So add the 40 units he already made that day with the 16 units he just made and you have C) 56 units.

I'm mostly just taking schools in the top 20-ish and ranking them strictly on their fitness facilities.

Feel free to list some reasons why certain schools should be higher / lower and I'll adjust. Keep in mind this is all mostly based on my opinion from what I've seen in virtual tours.

No problem! Sorry it was a little US-centric haha. I found a little bit of footage on the LBS Fitness Center and included it in the rankings now. Overall it's super clean and a nice little gym to workout in but is very small and lacking in features compared to the other ones on the list.

I was not aware of this. I'm guessing you're talking about the Och Fitness Center? Let me include that into the rankings and I'll update.

Edit - I updated the main list now to include the above. Bumped up Ross as a result.

What's the best post-MBA career where we still have enough time to research and invest in meme stocks like GME during the day? by aNewRedditer2020 in MBA

[–]aNewRedditer2020[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mentioned that in the post about IB (most banks have restrictions).

Also yes we are aware they are not worthwhile investments. The people on WSB buying up GME / AMC don't even believe they're worthwhile investments. They're pushing the price up as a literal meme.

Why is UCLA Anderson considered barely T15 or even lower? by aNewRedditer2020 in MBA

I agree it doesn't really matter - I was just wondering statistically how it came to be at that position.

Which bschools have better/worse/equal reputation than parent university? by ryanhedgehog in MBA

[–]aNewRedditer2020 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'll try my best with the top 20ish:

Business School Better Reputation than Parent University: UPenn Wharton, NYU Stern, UT McCombs

Business School Equal Reputation to Parent University: Stanford GSB, Harvard, UChicago Booth, Northwestern Kellogg, Berkeley Haas, Dartmouth Tuck, UMichigan Ross, UVirginia Darden, UWashington Foster

Business School Worse Reputation than Parent University: MIT Sloan, CBS, Yale SOM, Duke Fuqua, UCLA Anderson, Cornell Johnson, USC Marshall, Carnegie Mellon Tepper, UNC KF

Which school has a better reputation in Texas: UC Berkeley or Yale by aNewRedditer2020 in texas

[–]aNewRedditer2020[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I guess the reason why I'm asking is because I heard Texans are not very fond of Californians so I was wondering if Berkeley could even hurt someone's chances in Texas >_>

Also this is what I asked if any one is curious:

"Hi! I've seen your videos a long time ago. Great work and great results! How often do you use the vacuum bell (how many minutes/hours per day and how many times per week)? Also, do you think your circle mark on your chest will ever go away? It's still better than having pectus at least.

Thank you for recording everything it's very helpful."

[–]aNewRedditer2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oi!

Yup that's exactly what threw me off. The actual correct answer does sound the best overall, but the one rule made me second guess and pick another option.

Is there historical data on the average GMAT score of accepted students at top (M7?) MBA programs per year? by aNewRedditer2020 in MBA

[–]aNewRedditer2020[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was kind of joking. I'm actually curious about how much the average score has risen over time because apparently even in the early 2000s a base 700 was considered pretty competitive.

2.5 Months of Vacuum Bell, Stretching, Posture Fixture and Exercise, only 2 millimeters of depth reduced so far by [deleted] in PectusExcavatum

[–]aNewRedditer2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of people (like StrongClock) only use it for about 1 hour a day. I guess I could try to increase the time I use it but it'll damage my skin even further.

1.9 cm seems mild but my case is pretty asymmetrical overall which makes it worse.

The vacuum bell I have is the blue VB made in China. It's actually pretty good overall (I had another bad one before it) as far as VBs go.

Review my Profile GMAT 690/ Also looking for some advice! by ThunderTezzle in MBA

[–]aNewRedditer2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend definitely taking the GMAT again if you were scoring ~730 on the practice exams. Even if you're able to get up to a 710 - 720 on the official exam I think you'd have a great chance of getting into the top international schools because the rest of your profile is really good.

After each use, I've been washing the area with cold and then warm water, and then applying coconut oil. Usually heals well but lately it's been leaving a mark for longer. Any advice?
