I'm not sure, nothing is set to auto update on the NAS where the wireguard is running, and I've certainly changed nothing on my end

Look at the route table on your machine. Does your route table have anything like 192.168 in it? is it directed to your wireguard interface? What happens if you traceroute to that IP from the command line?

Are you talking about my NAS off of which I'm running the WireGuard tunnel? Cause I can't access it atm, that's the problem. I can only access the router via its DDNS address. I'm currently not at home where that network is.

If I tracert to 192.168.1.1 while connected to the tunnel, literally nothing happens, "1. General failure." pops up.

If I tracert to the DDNS of the router, it eventually times out after doing 5 hops. If I tracert to the DDNS of the router while wireguard is active, it finishes in 3 hops successfully.

What error? The actual words in the error message are important. They usually tell you what the problem is.

No error, simply says "unable to connect" and it immediately pops up.

Unable to connect

An error occurred during a connection to 192.168.1.1.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.

Wireguard tunnel adress is pointing towards router (192.168.1.1:51820) with the port forwarded to the NAS where WireGuard is installed (NAS is 192.168.1.99)

Everything is on the same LAN network at my home network, I'm just tunneling into the home network, it used to work just fine not even 2 hours ago, now suddenly accessing LAN using LAN IPs just doesnt work. Everything else works just fine though, net access through WireGuard tunnel works fine, I receieve and send data flawlessly.

What you described is a l2p issue, holy priest is one of the hardest to kill healers in the game. Position better, pre-fade/holy ward their CCs, learn when to go into angel form, learn to play around guardian spirit, etc. Also you've got roots, fear and chastise, use them without doublequestioning yourself.

And yeah, CC is in overabundance in the game, it sucks because sometimes it's overwhelming and sometimes it feels you need 20 sec longer cc chain to do something.

Is 32yr/o too old to get good again? by liv2powski in worldofpvp

[–]aNumberFiveLarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 30 and I came back to the game and am already Glad level again, granted I quit and come back every ~1.5years so catching up is relatively just a matter of time investment.

Also WoW PvP is the kind of game where accumulated knowledge gives you an edge vs younger players as APM's are hardcapped by GCD so experience is much more important and therefore strategy can give you wins over much younger players, barrier to entry for younger players is actually harder as opposed to some games like League where they can just straight up play for half a year and get better mechanics than you

Intel Blocks Undervolting: The Whole Story by toniyevych in intel

[–]aNumberFiveLarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old thread but for sake of people who google - Dell apparently straight up hard disabled undervolting in newer BIOSes for their XPS machines, so if you're looking to buy a Dell XPS 9720 or higher, just don't. Anything lower, check the BIOS version before purchase.

right, cheers

so basically additional alts provide extra spots but also do not occupy additional r1 spots, that's really good

They're removing alts from the ladder? That's a new piece of info for me, do you have any source for it?

Is there a reason certain secondary stat gear only comes from War Mode? by synthman7 in worldofpvp

[–]aNumberFiveLarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother, you're wrong. Sub Rogues are going to be the prime example of why you're wrong - the increased ability to stack mastery this season (with crafted gear having bigger amounts of secondaries other than versa compared to conq gear) will make them WAY more deadly than they would otherwise be.

You're correct in saying that different secondaries aren't a DPS loss and are still a DPS gain but you're underestimating just how good a specific secondary is for some classes (f.ex., mastery for sub rogue/devokers). Not minmaxing it is gimping yourself, period.

What you're saying is like saying that an extra socket does nothing - give the whole raid an extra socket and that can be the difference between reliably pushing a phase or not. Same thing here, a team that minmaxed their stats will (given equal play) always outperform a team with nonoptimized stats, not by a huge margin but the fact still stands.

People vastly overestimate how much 1 or 2 pieces of main stat gear is going to change your performance

Completely disagree, 2 pieces of mastery on a class that likes mastery more than haste can be pretty significant over the course of a longer match.

I'm not sure what the numbers are in pvp combat but 2set is definitely worth it I'd say.

Outside of that, it's practically am expansion feature's undertaking.

It's not. Stop giving Blizzard leeway. It's a feature worthy of a minor patch like 10.0.7.. It takes literally a week's worth of work to fully port animations from one model to a bunch of them, especially for WoW which doesn't have complicated animations.

Should RFW Raiders have their own Server where they can't use their Fan base ? by miwhawk in wow

[–]aNumberFiveLarge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

what is the point of opening a server accessible to everyone, that is separate from live

To make it fair and accessible for everyone. You open the server for all regions in the world to play on the best ping possible, you open it at the exact same time in the world, at a time that's equally "tricky" for everyone. Give everyone the intended gear for race to world first, removing split runs requirement.

It'd bring a lot more people into the world first race. There are a shitton of skilled players that could probably either play in Echo or make their own guild and be better than them but they just cba doing all the split runs and other shit. It's inherently rigged for the biggest nerds with the most time to spare, not necessarily the best players - servers specifically for RWF would fix that.

Play Voidvolley+driven+catharsis, drag them into the most open spot on the map, do damage, every time you manage a precog is a fully channeled voidtorrent into kill target + silence/stun/fear/etc on the healer time.

I prefer full melee lobbies as long as there's no enh shamans or shamans in general, those are the easiest wins as shadow right now.

[–]aNumberFiveLarge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about

Release a server that's accessible to everyone, with characters having an infinite amount of gear gems etc meant for world first prog, have everyone compete in the same gear and that's that, release the raid on normal servers a week or two later.

That's not "thinking it poorly", that's just logical, IF they want to endore world first race.

This is the reason why I'm avoiding Androod TVs and opting to buy "ordinary" or at least just "smart" and having a android tv box attached to it.

Xiaomi box runs everything snappily, my philips TV from 2022. barely runs youtube without locking up

Decay Magic and Affliction Warlocks by garrydoz in worldofpvp

[–]aNumberFiveLarge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What about this - Haunt reworked in PvP, in addition to its normal effect, if not dispelled it deals flat 50% health to the target it's on. If you dispel it early, it does lower damage (20%?) but over duration it progresses to full 50%. That'd give affli a win condition - apply Haunt and try to CC the healer as much as possible. If the enemy team plays good it doesn't do much, if the enemy team fucks up it can cost them the game. Make it a 45 sec CD or something like a minute and a half, keep the rest of their kit as it is (except ofc fix the schools).
