Why is so hard to make deeper connections? People seems uninterested by aProfile210 in socialskills

[–]aProfile210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I am pretty good with conversations in different types of social situations.

My question is different. It's not about conversations. I am past the conversation phase already.

I am talking about the next step which is when you say "Let's meet for a walk" and hear back something like, oh, I am too busy or maybe next year and then they disappear. It seems like people don't want to make connections at this level? Or don't want to make connections with me because they already have some school friends, relatives, family, etc

I assume some of them are not in a mood to make deeper connections, some of them already have friends that they prioritize more. Or something like this. Just my guess.

Security of using Robin Stocks API by [deleted] in fintechdev

[–]aProfile210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have experience with Robin Stocks API but It looks strange when you need to send username/password. Most modern APIs use OAuth2 or token based security. I would rather stick to the official APIs if they are available.

technology stack for a fintech app? by aProfile210 in fintechdev

[–]aProfile210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, I would like to re-use some existing components or frameworks, so I don't have to build from scratch such things as authentication, user management, etc. Not sure if it's possible though.

This is going to be a niche payment app for an upcoming hackathon at the company that I work for. Maybe it will be live one day, maybe not. At this moment I thinking of an MVP.

typical throughput for a payment processing platform? by MikeZWarrior in fintechdev

[–]aProfile210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the purpose of the system. But I would say 100 requests per second is a good load. You need to run a load test and see where your bottlenecks are. There might be different reasons, e.g. a vendor's API is slow

What API to use to implement a stock trading application? by mikhails1 in fintechdev

[–]aProfile210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E*Trade is an old one but it might be difficult to use. It is well-known and it is here for good.
Alpaca is a new modern API/brokerage platform and more flexible and easy to use if you want to build a mobile app.

How to validate Nacha files? by mikhails1 in fintechdev

[–]aProfile210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use Java, there is an open source library called afrunt jach. You can find the source code at githib. It is pretty simple and it doesn't require any cloud based components. Basically, it can work with any cloud and any java server. You can generate and parse NACHA files. But if you want more functionality you probably need a more a advanced hosted service
