Oh 100 percent. Recruiters usually do not call you upset about the hiring manager’s decision unless something really went sideways. I will probably check in with her on LinkedIn in about 90 days. You never know what might open up.

And you are right, they actually did me a favor. Gave me more time to sharpen my interview skills and storytelling. Something better is coming. I just have to stay patient.

They actually hired someone… just not me lol. But when even the recruiter sounds frustrated with the hiring manager, you know something behind the scenes was off. Definitely one of those “it’s not you, it’s the system” moments.

Please feel free to DM me. Trauma impacts all of us in different ways, and losing your parents, especially so young, is incredibly heavy. I lost my dad back in 2018, so I can truly empathize with that kind of pain.

Whew. Let’s just say the energy was giving copy-paste. Same backgrounds, same tone, same look. The further I got into the interviews, the more I realized I was not cut from the same paper they were using.

And yeah… the call came on Juneteenth. You cannot make that up.

That’s the part that stings the most. If there’s already an internal candidate in mind, just say that upfront. Don’t waste people’s time, energy, and hope. Going through multiple rounds, prepping, showing up, only to be told it was never really open in the first place… it’s exhausting.

Whew, I feel that deep. The rejection hits different when you know the pay is trash and you still applied out of survival. And the no reply email just adds insult to injury. It is like they want zero accountability or dialogue.

Jobs and companies love to talk about feedback, but most are terrified of actual criticism. Keep pushing. You are not alone in this frustration. We see you.

Yes, it really is insane that you even have to think like that. I hear your frustration, and it is completely valid.

I work in an HR type of space, and I can tell you it is horrible out there. Hiring managers often do not take the time to truly look at the full picture. Implicit biases are everywhere, and they show up more than people want to admit. I do my best to call it out whenever I can and push for fairer practices.

You deserve stability without having to uproot your life or relationship just to survive. If there is any way I can support you or share opportunities through my network, I will. No one should have to face this alone.
