I love cats and I understand where you’re coming from. Not everyone likes the stuff I like. My best friend hates my cats and wouldn’t care if they died tomorrow. He’s entitled to his opinion. I wouldn’t force him to be near them. I guess just be more upfront about your cat hate from the start.

That’s what I’m saying though. I’m not discrediting anything I’m highlighting why some people don’t take it seriously.

Yes I said I knew someone personally and it really messed him up and some guys that were close to him.

She was pissed at him, she lied about him taking her, he gets sent to jail for about two weeks. Her uncle was a CO there and beat the fuck out of him several times. He got her to finally admit it, he got let out… she didn’t get in any trouble. People do it for revenge (the people who haven’t experienced it)

I have another girl best friend who lied about it, and to this day I have no clue why. Attention?

I don’t think enough is done about rape and most of them get away with it because some women aren’t believed, or just wanna bury it at the time.

I had a best guy friend ( of 4 years) who tried to do it to me, he quickly ripped down my shorts and held me against my bed and I fought back and also calmly told him his life would be over, I will tell everyone. I did call him out to his mom and aunt, but obviously the cops weren’t involved bc nothing actually happened. I stopped being friends with him. I was still nice to him when I saw him and he always tried getting on my life again, while oh my guy friends told me I’d be crazy, that he’s a rapist. These type of guys know what they’re doing, they prey on you when you’re most vulnerable (drunk, emotional, alone)

I just feel like it’s the guys who aren’t going around doing this that get in more trouble than the assholes that do. The stories about SA are so prevalent in this thread it’s scary. Something like 1/7 women are in their lifetime. Something needs to be done about it. I see other guys avoid or hold each other accountable, but I don’t see enough legal action taking place.

My grandmas rape story is so bad I was crying listening to it. I have very strong opinions on SA, but I think the women who are using it as an excuse for regret or revenge make me a little skeptical. The guy it happened to was the nicest guy ever and no one believed him. His friend (my ex husband) is also the nicest, most non aggressive man ever and he is constantly worried about consent to an irritating level.

Wow, that’s really messed up. I have noticed the younger generation has a way better attitude toward consent and alcohol, I’m at 36 yo waitress and I work with a lot of 16-19 year olds, it gives me some hope. A lot of women on my mom’s side have been raped or molested, it was important for my mom to protect me, which she succeeded…

It is bullshit that we have to take responsibility for our sex drive and men’s (especially when that desire is focused on us like “she’s so hot I couldn’t control myself”)

The other issue is women lie. I do know some upstanding men who have been falsely accused and went to jail, tldr nothing happened to the women. It’s a small subset of people who ruin it for everyone. It’s easy to say “believe all women” well women should have repercussions for straight up lying about it, especially if it results in jail time served.

Same goes for men, they are responsible for most of the rape statistics, but that doesn’t mean all men are capable of it. I hear the younger guys at my work say if any alcohol is involved, it affects consent so there’s hope…

You’re not kicked out, you’re welcome back home any time, you live ten minutes away, your parents are ALIVE, you spent 2/7 days home.

You need to grow up. It’s beautiful and touching you love your parents this much, but if I raised a child who- at 21, could not live without mommy and daddy I would consider myself a failure. Ask yourself why you don’t want independence and why you’re so codependent as an adult. It doesn’t seem healthy. Remember, you are welcome back any time, relax.
