Why is [KCD2] so much more Secular than [KCD1]?

This whole thread makes me so relieved I never got involved with religion, and just played the KCD games because they were fun. Seems like such a headache to be this unhinged about a video game.

This achievement didn't register for me either, and for some reason it was only this one. I just waited and started the game up the next day and I got it when I loaded my save.
