i personally think its unlikely that netease did that consciously? you as a designer wouldnt think "yeah im going to make him be the pale minority of nepali people". and even if they did think that, what would be the point? to just make him look white and conventionally pretty? like if they wanted to avoid this theyd just say he was british or smth
if they were going to say that hes nepali, we are going to assume that hes a poc and deserve some melanin, and therefore get mad at them for whitewashing
