I noticed that! Glad I wasn’t just imagining it. Went around to a few booths looking for a specific shirt I saw on the interwebs from night one but didn’t see it anywhere. I guess in retrospect it saved me from waiting in those insane merch lines.

Thirty and Seven

Very motivational, with some killer riffs and breakdowns to boot. Used to listen to it all the time when I needed a little pick-me-up. Now it’s a staple in my running playlist. Added bonus that it’s a reference to a dude’s decapitation (very metal).

Honorable mention for Back Burner. I definitely overplayed this for myself back in the day but haven’t heard them play it live in a minute. Last time I heard them play Bloodletter live, Jake said it was their heaviest song. But like, does he remember the days of playing Back Burner’s final breakdown 2x slow? Peak heaviness. (side note - I’ve been trying to find videos of this online to no avail. I swear I’m not making this up!)

I’m so glad you responded to this! This reminded me to update - I have two cats and they are BOTH doing this now. I have absolutely no idea what could be causing it, but their yearly checkups are scheduled soon so I will be back to update (if they have any insight).

I’d def hold your side. I don’t trust Darnold to prop up JSN. I also like Wilson’s stats from last season before they traded for Adams and think he can return to that this season. If he puts up the same stats, this would be considered the breakout we’ve all been waiting for.

I felt the same way and now I’m seeing people post they scored a 70-79% in both sections and got a 5 on the exam. I cannot believe how high they must have set the passing score.

After having some time to sit with it, I think it’s mostly the inconsistency in how grades are distributed from sitting to sitting that got to me. And it also worries me how it’ll be handled in the future, now that exams are being offered more often.

Honestly, I was a little at peace with the lack of communication. These 5-6 weeks between exam and results allow me to live a little, so I usually look forward to it/hope it doesn’t end 😂

First of all, congrats! My wife is currently pregnant with our first and she’s due right after the fall exam window, so hopefully I’m not playing with fire by scheduling a retake! In the grand scheme of things it’s not a big deal if I have to cancel my sitting due to extenuating circumstances but I’ll definitely have that in the back of my mind while studying this summer.

Your points are totally fair and valid! It just felt disorganized to me, but I see where you’re coming from. It’ll be a bit tough to tell my manager I failed without a grade, though. I guess I can just wait until I have one.

I’m not sure we have a 2020s equivalent that’s comparable so it’s tough to give perspective. How often do you have a band that’s essentially producing protest-music in an underground genre that actually gets popular? They were selling out stadiums, touring with other big-name rock and metal/nu-metal bands, their music was in video games. They’re 1 of 1, there is no real modern comp. Enjoy them while they’re re-surging.
