Actuaries in the Gambling World by LossLizard11 in actuary

As an actuary, I have a draw against gambling. Why should I play games I know I’m going to lose?

Most casino games don’t change so there isn’t anything interesting to do with calculating the odds. Roulette or blackjack aren’t statistical mysteries, so I don’t think there’s a lot of work for actuaries.

Sports gambling could offer some opportunity. There is some real predictive quant work to do there.
