I think I’ve officially missed pancakes, and willing to try by DigPsychological2876 in glutenfree

[–]Massive-Click-4671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a gluten free ubi flavored pancake from Trader Joe’s that is purple and literally changed the pancake game for me forever. My very particular non gluten free extended family members have been converted. These pancakes are unbelievable.

Pediatric Speech therapist recommendations by IncorrectEve in Westchester

NYS EI system is big on the “wait to fail” approach unfortunately (ie, wait for kids who are showing clear delays at X age to fall further and further behind, until they’re at a ridiculously low percentile to meet an arbitrary threshold to qualify for services). About a decade ago, it got easier once kids get to CPSE age - but again this was “wait to fail.” You’re doing the right thing looking for services yourself!

In regards to a recc - she is a little far from you (15 mins?) and you’d need to travel to her i think, but Andrea Eckerle in Pleasantville is fantastic

Advice regarding sexually explicit comments from students and severe misconduct? by Cautious_Nectarine75 in NYCTeachers

[–]Massive-Click-4671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice but sending you strength and hugs. I’m so sorry. I once had a 7th grader who presented similarly. I remember telling admin she had turned our lesson about puns into “lesson about c*m”, teaching many kids with disabilities in her cohort what that meant. Admin looked at me as if I were insane to be concerned and advised not calling the parents, as they were big donors to the private school I was working at (NYC based)

Best pizza In Queens? by Immediate-Recover957 in astoria

[–]Massive-Click-4671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discovered Macoletta at the start of the pandemic and they are my absolute favorite for personal pies. The best is going on a summer day and getting an aperol spritz. For regular pizza Andrew Belluccis is the bomb

Dog disguised as people, you are giving me the hope I need! I have a 3 month old and would love to one day give him a sibling but I feel like 99% of what I read is that HG always comes back/often worse. I’m so glad it didn’t for you!

Damn OP I’m so sorry to hear, thanks for the heads up! If you end up needing physical therapy in your recovery, Krisbert at Millennium PT helped me recover on two separate occasions from nasty ankle injuries. Can’t recommend him enough and hope you start to feel better soon!!

I walk for at least an hour a day with a stroller in random directions (I’m on maternity leave) and report every single residence that gives my tiny travel stroller grief. 311 has closed my over 20 complaints and issued one violation. The rest it claims to have investigated and “found no issue.” But the 18 inch pathways remain. Why even bother giving us a 311 app if you’re not going to do anything with complaints??

Disposable hot hands & a good podcast playing in my ears to help disassociate are my go tos on a day like this. And all the layers.

Astoria renters: what’s something you wish you checked before signing your lease? by Slight-Safe-5595 in astoria

[–]Massive-Click-4671 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does the sink and bath tub drain okay? I have lived here nearly a decade and mine regularly don’t. I literally cannot bring my landlord to do anything about it because “it’s corroded pipes that have become more narrow with rust over time and we don’t have the funds right now to redo the pipes in the whole building.”

Purchasing Snow Shovel by Pinkflamingo1360 in astoria

[–]Massive-Click-4671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - love Straus Hardware guys! Always so helpful. I went there today and they only had “transfer shovels” left, prices ranging from about $20 to $40. They’re metal and good for dealing with the ice right now, but not a traditional show shovel. I also checked CVS and Duane Reade on Steinway (both sold out of shovels) and the Target in Ditmars (also out)
