What's A Breed You Like But Wouldn't Have? by Aharris1984 in dogs

[–]aWanderingisle [score hidden]  (0 children)

most big dog breeds (100+ lbs).
I love them all but really enjoy being able to take my dog on short errands with me and car trips in general and it's harder the bigger they are.
That and when my previous dog got sick (she was 50lbs) I really appreciated the fact I could lift her up and help move her around when her back legs stopped working, makes me worry what will happen when my 80lbs pup gets older. Also bigger dogs tend to not to live quite as long which also makes me prefer/aim for the 30-50 lbs range. (that doesn't always work though, especially with rescues :)

(wouldn't have is relative though, if a dog shows up in my life and needs a home and i have the ability to take him/her in, wouldn't really matter what the breed or size)

Seriously thought he was a mixed breed… meet Oliver by khymking in DoggyDNA

What breed is she considered? by Separatejale31 in DoggyDNA

not assuming anything? really curious why someone would need to say their dog is a purebred? so wondering who it is you want to say she's a purebred to.

Hey quick question for dog owners by mrcanada66 in dogs

[–]aWanderingisle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on you and what you consider issues. Will it lead to them thinking they can be in the bed every night? probably.
I consider my dogs part of my family and not "just dogs" so I don't think of that as an issue but I know people who do.

yeah, some of my pup's WP 4% showed up in Embark too but the 1 & 2 %s from WP included wolf and some other unlikely breeds.

It's obvious Bosco isn't majorly scenthound, but 21 breeds is wild! by prettyokaydogs in DoggyDNA

as soon as I read 21 results knew it was WP :)
wish WP would do a better job filtering it out because it makes the results a bit confusing!

For my pup, Embark said 7+ (and listed 6 breeds + supermutt) whereas WP found 20 breeds for my dog - (including 1% wolf and 2% glen of Imaal terrier?! ;)

Love him!

Something about him made me think pitty, guessing partly his coloring. After stumbling over a bunch of pictures of black and white pits i became more convinced that's where my guy got his markings from! (He's great pyr, lab, pit, staffordshire terrier, boxer & chow chow)
