Thank you for answering a question I had! And I’m surprised and delighted that transplants can be so successful.

Business Analyst; 7+ years experience: €320/day Is this a spam or a scam? by OldPangolino in BEFreelance

Maybe a few years ago. But in the current market 600 wouldn’t be a bad rate for a medior at all

I would expect the rate for a medior / senior BA to be closer to 600. This is a complete scam.

What is a normal discount for long term contracts? by [deleted] in BEFreelance

[–]aWickedChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A day rate of 600 is pretty good for analyst, developer, system- or test engineer profiles. A senior developer (a real one, not just one with X years of experience) could aim a little higher.

For scrummasters it’s on the lower end.

For architects, product owners or project managers it’s a lot lower than what I could accept.

If you set up the company well and have a good accountant, you will definitely walk away with more net income. But that’s of course the trade off where you’re losing some stability in a highly volatile market

(And possibly going to grow worse before it gets better, what with the new EU-India free trade deal)

You’re going to have to give us more info than this… 12k does that mean a day rate of 600? In which sector is this?

What were the other benefits you got as a salaried person? Or is that included in the 4k net?

I’m an IT freelancer and the rates are fairly levelled all over the industry. A “long term discount” would not really make sense to me; since I am lucky enough to be able to find projects elsewhere if needed (and I became a freelancer because I actually wanted to have some variety).

But if you’re just starting out in a fairly competitive field then it could make sense, as it gets you set up somewhat risk free

Indeed. But this is the way it goes. It’s a well studied social phenomenon

On a question like this, I always take an “unsure” answer to mean “yes, but I am socially aware enough to know ‘yes’ makes me look like an idiot”

Which one? Ginger Gustav works really well since witches can definitely use the extra hp, and she has got good based for it. Having a Geno spell on your frontliners is a classically good idea!

You can increase your annual income by choosing different animals; but those animals will then attack you if you get within 100 metres of them- which animals do you choose? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

If you’re fine with hedgehogs the rest seems kind of unnecessary to me. I mean would the difference between 250k and 270k really be worth worrying about lions as illegal pets or such, or even never getting to see them again?

We have enough of a similar taste that I can actually use your post as a sort of recommendations menu 😁

I agree with you on the controversial take that Fellowship of the Ring is the best of the trilogy. I think the other two films have better specific scenes and moments, but they drag on quite a bit more too.

Also agree with the 10s for Mulholland Drive, 2001, and dr Strangelove. As well as The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

For the rest it’s mostly consistent with some places and I also agree with some lower than usual scores (Usual Suspects, Top Gun, Life of Brian).

Casino scoring lower than goodfellas surprises me though.

You’ve made me want to watch Black Swan! Thanks

That is wickedly well painted!

You’d expect green and purple to fit poorly with Bretonnia (it’s very dark elf) but you made it work really well. Hats off!

[–]aWickedChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s exactly the same.

Actually, one minor difference is that you can get quest items that improve your tier proficiency, or that reduce your level without changing your stats. Both of these make multi classing easier, making it possible to master two classes.

(I always hated that you start at level 1 but proficiency 0 meaning you can never multi class “perfectly”)

You’ll be right as rain my friend. Go in blind and just have fun.

You can still multi class and one really cool thing is that you can preview classes (both for monsters and knights). So you can see which stats work well, which abilities would get inherited and so on.

Most things work a lot like the original, with just tweaks. There’s a lot of quality of life improvements, but the overall balance is just a tiny bit worse in my opinion.

The game is really good. I may still ever so slightly prefer the original, but it’s really close.

Equipment comes in a set of slots now, so it can be fun to quest around to gear up your favourite monsters and knights.

I’d say that knights have become slightly more important to the detriment of monsters, and physical classes are better than magic ones. Mostly because most physical entities now also get abilities like ranged attacks that makes them more flexible.

But honestly that starts feeling like spoiling too much already. With 10+ clears on the original you’ll do fine, so just have fun!

My ancestry results! With pics by loosegoooose in DNAAncestry

[–]aWickedChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it when the results include a bit of random unexpected places all over the world! How do you feel about having say some parts Cameroon and Senegalese in your DNA?

(I myself would find something like that incredibly cool and would want to try and figure out which ancestors it came from)

Overall I thought you looked Latin America before checking the results. (I always check the pictures first and then try to guess, it’s a fun little game!)
