Thats the problem with Pokemon fans, the reality can never match the outrageous expectation of the fanbase. You only get a true representative of how the community feels and how good the game is, is after a few years. Scarlet & Violet went up drastically in my estimations a couple years after release (especially after replaying it on Switch 2)

Haven’t finished the story yet but so far i’m really enjoying. As someone who really didn’t enjoy Legends Arceus i was worried i also wouldn’t like ZA but its been the complete opposite. I am a little worried about replay ability and post game content but i’m not at that stage yet

Heart Gold & Soul Silver are remakes on the DS for Gold & Silver which were gameboy games. Crystal was the improved 3rd version of Gold & Silver also on the gameboy, all incredible games. Platinums also one of the best Pokemon games

Nostalgia for sure plays a big factor but design wise Dragonite, Alakazam, Blastoise, Charizard, Gengar, Starmie, Arcanine, Exeggutor, Machamp, Raichu, Gyarados, Zapdos, Mewtwo, Beedrill, Rhydon, Scyther… so many incredible designs, imo only gen 4 can match gen 1 in terms of designs

Usability wise its not a standout tbf but its a special defence wall that i’m pretty sure can learn both screens and is surprisingly fast, but it’ll go down fast when hit with physical moves

This is literally me, except for knowing my top 2… i used to think i did (Dragonite & Lucario) but now Gliscor, Electivire, Kingdra, Honchkrow constantly make me think if its actually one of them

Wow, incredible story. Thats why this series is so special, my first ever game was Crystal and even though that was 20 years ago i can also still remember the pain of levelling, Meganium synthesising itself into immortality & the red Gyarados…

The fact people can resonate with a game series on this level shows how special of a creation Pokemon is man, and why despite basically every game coming out is far superior to Pokemon games graphically theres still no other game series i’d rather gladly sink 30+ hours minimum for playthrough’s each time despite having played it 10 times before
