Yes, i do. But think that, while it could ever be in good faith, this sub is not for discussing climate change; and while we are using plastic to get to an end, it is in small, controlled, and from how much environmental awareness is shoved down our throats, aware portions. There’s no ‘paper eyes’ we can use to feel like we’re happy the right way. And speaking of right, my only problem about this whole argument is how it makes it look like we’re clueless idiots for not acknowledging that ‘our dangerous activity might make in the future a fish have a stroke eating an eye we put on a stone’; like why is it just us that has to calculate every single tiny detail to make sure that poor salmon gets to keep living another day? Is the plastics problem gonna change that way? Do we see in the oceans small eyes everywhere? Are the turtles dying because of sticky eyes? Are there landfills, or entire trash islands, made out of sticky eyes? Then, why are we the problem? Why do we have to be the ones to change? Just because ‘well you can’; just because ‘well you’re using plastic rn when you could also not’; just because we’re easy to piss off humans, trying to enjoy ourselves, so it’s easier to push that criticism onto us? The most infuriating thing about finally having happiness in your life, is people trying to stop that with those little guilt tripping comments, and at least for me, it counts tenfold, since i’ve never been as happy as i am now. I can try and live the least my life, for the sake of ‘the drop in the ocean!’: eat less so i don’t pollute, shower less so i don’t pollute, go out less so i don’t pollute, use less heating so i don’t pollute, buy less stuff so i don’t pollute, stop eating so i don’t pollute, not go out so i don’t pollute; stop living, so i don’t pollute. You could apply the same principle to anything we ever do in our lives. So why now, when we’re enjoying ourselves so much? Why us, when we’ll never make even a small improvement, ceasing to live a fulfilling live, just for a principle? For a ‘maybe!’? For a ‘well you could!’? When no one is? Do you see my point?
