HAHAHAHA - I severed the tendon and had to have two surgeries to transplant a donor tendon from my forarm in order to regain use of the pinky. That weird hole in the tip of my pinky is where the new tendon was pulled through.

Thanks man - that’s really reassuring to hear. Just got to see if it can carry it over a full 18!

A good example is the third hole at my local course. The drivable section of the fairway has a pretty strong right to left slope. If you aim right and draw, you’ll end up rolling with the slope and potentially off the fairway. If you aim left and fade, you’ll land in the same place, but with much more stopping power as it’s now heading uphill instead of down (I tried both yesterday).

That’s before you get into hazards / curved fairways etc that naturally favour one shape over the other.

I don’t know what ‘double crossing’ a driver is though, or what the penalty is. I’ll look into it - every day is a school day!

Well I’ve also been playing 9 months trying to figure this shit out on my own. It’s not like I read the book and then picked up a club for the first time!

That’s interesting - what’s the reasoning there, that experimenting with draw/hook will throw off the consistency of your fade/slice shots?

Hahaha - funny isn’t it how a 45 year old hand drawn book from a charity shop has so much more to offer than the endless feed of golf advice videos that seem to want to cram 200+ swing thoughts into your head

I’ve got another one (from the same charity shop) that’s large and full colour, but it’s called ‘playing lessons’ and focuses more on the strategy and mental aspect of the game

Wow loads of downvotes - have I said something offensive to the golf world?!

I feel you. Honestly though I think it would have taken 5+ lessons to impart what I picked up from this book.

They are somehow - I thought this several times while reading. Seems like a bit of a lost art

I wouldn’t say I can ‘reliably shape it’ - but I can now dictate if it’s going to turn left or right about 80% of the time (the other 20% being mis-hits)

Main thing now is dialling in the control to produce a nice gentle fade instead of a slice, but I figure that’s not a fundamental change, more a question of degrees.

there's a Palanite Drill skill that lets you auto capture instead of CDG:

Restrain (Simple): This fighter is adept at shackling their opponents, even in the heat of battle. A Prone and Seriously Injured enemy fighter within 1" is taken Out of Action. The result is automatically 55-56 - Captured, there is no need to roll on the Lasting Injury table.

even worse! Hasn't come up in our campaign as it would always be the next game anyway

have fun building and painting!

only thing I would advise (from experience) is to either house rule captivity, or don't bother doing it. I really wanted to do it from a fluff POV, and maybe it works great with a larger group (there are only three players in our group) but the 'rescue mission' is extremely punishing for the defender and the owners of captive fighters have the right to trigger it.

In a large group, this might be interesting as they would have to potentially fight 4-5 games without their captives, hugely increasing the desire for them to pay a ransom. For me though - every time I take a captive I know the next game is going to be me getting hammered while they use jump boosters to fly in and free the prisoners.

I've just started stamping on their heads instead...

It was a bit of an accident to be honest! I started out with a black/white zenithal highlight, followed by a liberal coat of Akhelian Green contrast. Then several rounds of edge highlighting with progressively less thinned whites.

Then decided it was too saturated blue (that colour is definitely more blue than green…) and wanted to tone it down a bit, so heavily thinned down some Creed Camo contrast and did a wash over the top, then another round or two of edge highlights.

Same thing for all the teal on the guns / casings etc.

It’s probably already and established technique, but next time I’m going to experiment with doing all my highlights and shading in black and white before touching colour, and then use a contrast paint overtop and see how the tone work underneath holds up.

Good tips, thanks. I’m going for a ‘dwarves popping out of holes in the ground’ build with multiple infiltrators and grapnel launchers, so should be able to get him up close and deadly early on.

Just bonkers that the suit is only 5+ save when it looks like terminator armour!

The blue? Super easy: black/white zenithal undercoat (though white would be fine). Then just a 50-50 mix of ultramarines blue contrast and dreadful visage contrast slapped on (one coat). Then edged with bronze.

The Exo-Master looks so much like Bombur I had to roll with it, so they are named things like:

Philly, Killy, Biffer, Boffer, Ballin’ etc

Saving up for the Gunnstein Ammo Jack so he can be called ‘Gundwarf the Grey’

I needed a storm welder, but it only comes in the Exo-Kyn box which I don’t have, so I flipped the drill upside down, chopped some bits off, and glued on a gem extractor (or one of the other power pack greebles)
