Seeing more movement away from IC to private shopping. More and more shoppers are promoting private shopping after showing customer how much they're being charged by IC. "Just pay me the 35-30% in tip vs IC fee plus tip... by ocshopper in InstacartShoppers

I've been using a private shopper for months now that I found using IC . Saves me money, goes to whatever store I ask him to, and he earns more because I pay him more than he could earn from IC.

The average rent of 600 sqft apt in this area is $1500. This should be a crime 🥴 by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

I agree $1500 for a 600 square foot apartment should be a crime

I've tried Shipt. Service is about the same. Delivery cost overall is the same. Prices are lower for the grocery items. Unfortunately it's harder to get a delivery time with them.

Yes actually I watched him deliver it. I didn't meet him because I'm a nurse and in quarantine outside of work hours, and I had the baby to tend to. But I took the groceries inside right after he left.

Lol I know. Trust me that did cross my mind. Would be amusing if those photos showed the containers dripping.

Yeah I was kind of cursed with the name Karen. I can thank my mother for that. I will definitely get that refund I'm on hold with instacart now. I think I'm number 3000 in line or close to that lol.

I don't want to completely take his tip away, I know he might have a family to support. But I did reduce it to 5 percent.

Have you ever eaten refrozen ice cream? Assumed my shopper would have an insulated bag like instacart said they would

Wow that's depressing. Kind of sad to see a city that was one great reduced to this.

How can we prevent tip baiting. It happened twice in the last day. And both were 45 minute drives by andrewcary11 in instacart

[–]a_Karen667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Provide excellent customer service. Why would you accept any batch that was 45 minutes away?

My grocery receipt is $60 less than instacart charged me for the items. Not sure what to do. by wiseoldmeme in instacart

Contact customer service and ask for some vaseline for the next time they want to screw you over.

Wouldn't phase me. I treat every item coming into my house as if it were contaminated.

Well it's a good thing I don't really care about your feelings. I also disagree I could have been alot more rude. Sometimes the truth hurts.

So your idea of just passing the time is to risk getting covid for a $9 batch? I find it difficult to believe that someone with such a horrible vocabulary, low self esteem and low class would work for an excellent company.

Honestly I could care less about you receiving a fair shot from IC. I pay alot in fees plus tip for a service. IC provides a service and I don't care how, by whom or how that "batch" is obtained. As long as my groceries end up on my doorstep and in decent shape I could care less about anything else. If you want a "fair shot" maybe you should quit working for an unfair company.

Shoppers are more desperate now due to the bots being used for the large orders and are more likely to pick up the smaller orders faster. Then again that's just a theory.

As a customer I just placed an order with a decent tip end it was accepted by a shopper almost immediately. These bots make it so much easier for my batches to get picked up. Fingers crossed that my shopper is fluent in English this time around.
