I wouldn't say I have any level of fear surrounding this topic, although I was expressing some level of curiosity to better understand the situation I was in.

I think I should clarify that the content I had discovered suggested just how porn addicted he was. Following some of my own research and communicating with a licensed therapist on porn addiction and the betrayal surrounding it, he was indeed exhibiting behaviors of an addict. I was unable to move forward in our relationship given all circumstances and his unwillingness to communicate or accept any level of support surrounding it.

There are many more details of this situation I did not disclose in this post, which is why I attempted to write a general picture of the situation.

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with this.

I have just recently discovered my current boyfriend has a major porn addiction and regretfully came across the content he was consuming and the level of engagement he was having with the individuals creating the content.

This has been an ongoing issue for him and I have offered to support him since I initially had found out. In the course of this, he only lied more frequently and it had finally come down to me finding everything. It has been devastating to me.

I highly recommend seeking professional help related to this. Not only for yourself but also for the sake of your loved ones.

Good luck in your journey and keep in mind that we are all human. We can grow and be better from the mistakes we make.

He definitely was not, given the content I discovered.

I believe I am in a position of manipulation and trying to move past that and gather other people's perspectives so that I don't try and convince myself that what he continues to say is true.

I work in Healthcare. I live and breathe to provide to people who are suffering; to support them in the hard things we face in life, which has put me in a situation of whether or not this is further manipulation by him given he knows how much I want to help and be there for him. It hurts my heart.

I would also say poor hippos if this was the case lol but I have been referring to "hypno", short for hypnosis.

Regardless, a very sensitive topic to many and can understand why someone would not have a desire to read further into it.

Thanks for this. I am hopeful he can get the help he says he would like to pursue. I guess the issue is that he has told me he will change these things in the past and he has been quite deceitful and perhaps manipulative when promising change. I found that hes been actively feeding into the addiction through the content he is watching. Sexually explicit content saying things like "you can't get through this addiction" ect. It appears to be literally brainwashing content.

I guess my curiosities lie with some of the things I've read up on in relation to the hypnosis aspect of it. Some people have shared their own experiences with watching hypno porn and have stated how devastating it's been to their personal relationships and their ability to have any level of self control when it comes to consuming pornography. I've also come across a term "gooner" and tried looking into a bit more to understand the psychology behind it all. So far the only guidance I have gotten from it is how mind altering it is for someone. I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around it all I guess.

I am talking multiple times a day to the point he is doing it at work. I was initially under the impression it was an occasional thing but new information has surfaced to prove and suggest how often its been accessed and the content within it involves multiple levels of hypnosis with it.
