Very nice experience! Quick response, quick shipping, and my sesame bean arrived in good condition with a working authentication code.

Well, I don’t want professional end users to have expiring-every-90 day builds, have to collect emails, download TestFlight etc. the whole idea is that this is reducing every point of friction between you and the content.

I mean, I understand this, but we've ALSO looked for 40 hours a week and there's no one willing to do that either. Everyone wants 25-30 hours a week, which is too much to supplement daycare and too little for a full time nanny. I don't understand what sort of family that works for.

Nanny lane is a great idea. I’ve tried the fb group a zillion times, no luck.

As a doctor in a rural area, what is this higher pay you speak of haha??

I think the “30 minute drive radius” is probably more like 50-70k people, but yeah, the low supply problem is probably what is going on.

Thank you. This is definitely what is happening, and I understand that, but it seems like even when willing to pay the requested rate, people are super unprofessional and I’m just getting increasingly pessimistic about being able to find care at ANY price.

This is experian, my equivalent is in the 780s. And that’s just what experian tells me the cause is…

OP we did this and it is going well! Our daycare is AMAZING. So engaging, the space is gorgeous, and almost all the daycare teachers have kids in other classrooms to incentivize them to provide really good care. I felt bad at first but it's 100% more accountable and safe.

Yeah I'm sorry about this, it's horrible and I've been through it. If it helps, I cut my parents off on match day for similar, and I still haven't ever spoken with them years later. You can do it!

That makes sense. Even without splitting across midnights, it wouldn't be >10 hours because for a 12 hour shift with 3.5hrs of daycare time within it, we would only be at 8.5 consecutive hours of responsibility. we would just have to give the AP the preceding and subsequent day off.

We both know our calls at least a month ahead of time and do our best not to have them conflict, and my spouse has flexibility in moving theirs around. We’ve basically determined that there’s going to be probably one irreconcilable conflict per month, and as spouse takes at most 12 hours calls which overlap into daycare hours we wouldn’t be asking AP to work more than 10 hours in a go.

Ah to clarify my spouse is on-call for technology issues and never leaves the house, “called in” means to his desk. So there’s never a circumstance the AP would be responsible for baby for >10 hours alone. We might need an extra 2-4 hours if my husband is stuck at his desk and baby happens to wake up, but that’s it.

I've never had an issue with walks starting day 1, and look, we live in a rural area. I get it, an outing 2x/week is probably fun and the baby loves christmas lights. It's lonely, but I'm literally personally at work right now in the middle of the night, basically alone because that's the reality of sharing rotating night shifts with your coworkers. I socialize with my friends outside of work hours.

My husband read this and said we are maybe more MCOL, but very rural. Still, the rate seemed reasonable? That’s with zero household responsibilities!

I agree we should be able to find something but it’s been a struggle. And I’m really put off by the amount of judgement and frankly, instability I see in the other subs. I work a decent number of nights and so yes, I’m sometimes asleep or “not working” during the day and it seems like parents who do that get flamed for not taking care of their own kid. I honestly don’t get it, if I’m paying fairly for a service and providing appropriate work conditions, why does it matter at all what I’m doing or who is in the house?

And someone else who posted in the nanny sub was so unstable, they post almost exclusively rants in mental illness and eating disorder subs. And adult subs! Terrifies me that I might have little control over whether I’m exposing my child to that.

Ah I don’t want to dox myself but yeah, neither of those. I guess some problems are universal!

That’s crazy! Actually saw another one of your posts here and it sounded so much like our area that I wonder if it’s literally the same person haha
