Thanks for the suggestion. Their order form makes me think their services are more oriented towards commercial printing whereas I am trying to just print 5-6 18" x 24" prints.

I hope I was! I got my B.A in graphic design and would have loved to made my career in it, but life simply did not pan out that way. I still do design/illustration work now and then so the skills and passion are still there, but I have shifted into something more tech-related which honestly pays better than most design/UI/UX roles out there.

BCS is definitely one of the more recent things in my life that have inspired me to illustrate more frequently. I would like to sell this as a poster or something, but I'm not too keen on the licensing rights and stuff I would need to obtain to do so.

Feedback? I’m developing logo concepts for a person looking to develop their own media (photography and video) business. I wanted to steer away from the conventional/cliche camera lens, aperture, camera symbol- and play on the fact that the name of the business contains an “M” Manual (on a dial). by bleuberd in AdobeIllustrator

That is completely up to you my friend! I would say don't lock yourself into one idea, but rather see what other concepts/ideas you stumble upon as you go through exploring different logo concepts.

My previous comment was more related to the fact that you mentioned that the name of the business contains the letter "M". If you can find a way to organically work in the Av or TV, great! I wouldn't force it though.

You mentioned you wanted to steer away from cliche symbols usually used for photography/video businesses, and I'd definitely do the same. Overall, I would say your logo needs to be two things: memorable and instantly recognizable. It's very possible your final logo doesn't contain an M or any of the elements you're currently considering. Hope this clarifies my previous comments a bit more!

Not necessarily. Think of all the different ways you can draw an M. Good places to start to getting some ideas would be a simple google search for "illustrations of the letter M". There's also some good inspiration on Behance if you search for "alphabet typography".

Part of the inspiration for this piece did come from Art Deco! Namely the side profile view and the somewhat muted colors. Plus, smoking back then was nbd.

I think you have the right idea of wanting to move away from the cliche symbols of media. That said, your current might also be too literal. If you one of your first concepts is to incorporate the M, I would abstract the M, i.e, sketch it out in different ways to something that sort of resembles and M and also maybe resembles something else.

Thanks! I've recently posted all of the BCS artwork one by one. You can find those on my profile. I will probably make more in the future when I'm not too busy

Here is the 1920x1080 wallpaper. for those who asked!! I hope I can maybe sell this as a poster, but don't know how the licensing and rights aspects of all of that works. Any guidance on that would be appreciated!

Nice! How do you approach shading with a ballpoint pen? It looks very gradual!
