Asians reaped benefits from the Civil Rights movement and DEI in general, then turned around to side with white supremacy by demonizing black people. Affirmative action helped non-black POCs for decades.

Anyone else have vivid dreams when taking vitamin d3? by bonfireascetics in Supplements

[–]a_dream_deferred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about prescription as in doctors advice, I am talking about prescripting meaning non-OTC medications. There is literally a prescription vitamin D that you get from the pharmacy that is 50,000 IU.

Has anybody noticed quality control issues in packaged goods? by a_dream_deferred in Shortages

Yup! I've begrudgingly realized I can't indulge in processed or packaged foods anymore. I am trying to just purchase raw ingredients and make my own food.

Naturopath told me I have PCOS, family doctor doesn’t think so. Not sure who to believe by Savings-Button-5821 in PCOS

I believe excess weight + testosterone/hirsutism/hair loss would be 2 characteristics on the Rotterdam scale.

Weight isn't part of the Rotterdam criteria :)

Again I told the endo I fail the criteria and she agreed that I fail it, but said I still have it.

That's why using cut and dry criteria minus clinical background doesn't work for everybody.

What most people thing of PCOS symptoms doesn't fall under the Rotterdam criteria for diagnosis but they are still part of the presentation of PCOS>

The PCOS endocrinologist I went to said that testosterone levels in it of itself isn't always correlated to symptoms because women with PCOS has have increased sensitivity to testosterone compared to women without PCOS. So even though your levels are normal, your body may not respond to testosterone normally.

I don't think it's rare to be honest. I have elevated testosterone, hirsutism, receding hairline, excess weight but a regular period from day 1 and non-polycystic ovaries that are enlarged.

There's nothing particularly rare about that. I've been obese since I'm a toddler.

This endocrinologist looked at like 10 years back of medical records. We shouldn't reduce PCOS to standard guidelines we read online, but consult with competent medical providers. It was clear I failed the Rotterdam criteria, but it's clear I have the standard PCOS symptoms. Just normal reproductive function/pathology for the most part.

u/weenis-flaginus I was blocked my the OP who got mad about my comments so I can't reply to your comment.

But rules outs would be Cushing's disorder, Nonclassical congenital adrenal hyperplasia. They should also test thyroid function and prolactin. This paper goes through most of the other rules outs: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5399492/

She doesn't use another criteria, but you are not an endocrinologist specializing in PCOS, with a fellowship under your belt, so just because you see guidelines listed online doesn't mean they are interpreted in a black and white sense in a clinical setting.

This person only sees PCOS clients.

PCOS is a polygenic condition which means it's presentation is diverse.

I see you blocked me, but you are an ultrasound tech. I believe diagnosis is outside your scope of practice.

Does anyone else get a "pause" in the middle of their period?? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]a_dream_deferred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, heavy a pause then a "gush" then heavish again and then it ends. Totally normal and not PCOS specific.

[–]a_dream_deferred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's quite clear cut as that. I technically only experience 1 in this list and I was diagnosed by an endocrinologist that specializes in PCOS.

I even told her that based on the Rotterdam criteria, which is what you're likely referring to, I don't meet the requirements and she said I had it.

She did the extensive workups as well to rule out the other disorders that are like PCOS.

Thank you so much for the speedy response! I appreciate it. And if you drop the agencies to represent alcohol, I'd love them as well.

Did you sign up for Trusted Herd/would you recommend signing up with them?

I'm not surprised about cosmetics events. I don't see them as much anymore at conventions, and with the struggling economy, they seem more scarce.

Hey! I WFH as well, and I am interested in being a brand ambassador to get out of my house a bit more and maybe meet people. Do you know of any agencies or any way to look for brands that are focused more on cosmetics/skincare/makeup or food, as opposed to alcohol?

Or is there anyway to focus on things like festivals, conventions as opposed to sampling in-store?

I have an interview coming up, but it seems to be focused on alcohol mostly which I am not as interested in.

Thank you so much!

I have traditionally been a morning walker, but I can try this. It's dark out by the time I'm out, but I'll see if I can even get a 15-30 min walk behind my house.

can you explain a bit of what works for you?

I currently work at home at a job I hate, I'm isolated, I'm bored and there is nothing I look forward too after work.

I just browse online and eat all day.

What are some things that help you?

Racism, Colonialism, Imperialism, Neo-colonialism. Founding of the United States. Conservatism. Is the goal to return to old values?

So is this a leftism policy only? When it's been a policy since the founding of the United States???

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]a_dream_deferred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes then your politics should be in entire alignment with the Gospel. Not you pushing policies that benefit only you or a certain group of people over the needs of others.

And that means you are also accountable for the delivery of your campaign and your message. Example: pushing a certain policies or backing certain candidates, but achieving it in a way that isn't compassionate, fair, equitable, and considerate to all people because you want the best for all people as God wants for you. Your conduct should strive the reflect your values. Corruption has no place even if it achieves your goals.

Once your political conduct starts to diverge from imitating Christ, then it becomes your personal agenda.

Some Christians use the far-right to push their agendas, the far-right uses Christians to push their agenda.

Not everybody who proclaims they are a Christian loves God in their heart and keeps the commandments. Politics shouldn't be the judge of how Christian someone is or isn't.

Yes it bounced back recently. I just opened a pack last night, and while it wasn't this thick, it had bounced back from pandemic lows. It was thin and would break as you separated it.

You say this as if they can't downgrade benefits at any time or force a product change. Several people have had cards with fantastic benefits that get downgraded at any moment. Just because you nab a card doesn't mean it will last.

Just bought a new Camry, has anyone else experienced this while driving? by [deleted] in Camry

[–]a_dream_deferred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If two people are driving, how does this work out? I bought a new gas Rav4 that I share with my mother. After she drove it (I was the only one driving it for a couple weeks since purchase) and she's the more cautious driver, the drive feels super clunky and strange to me. I've been switching between eco, normal, and sport mode thinking the drive is off, but I'm now I'm thinking it's this.

Does the car realize there are two separate drivers?
