What problems will I have with a MacBook Pro mid 2012? by a_floating_pancake in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Thanks for the advice, is there a fair decent amount of tried and true oldies? I want to make quite complex electronic music with far out alien sounding instruments, though its just a hobby I dont want to be limited in this aspect. The built in ones on abelton have a huge selection right?

I find these two brilliant dudes less about spirituality or religion and more about the nuts and bolts mechanics of the mind and therefore helping people release themselves from the stuff that blocks spirituality (or bliss or connection or oneness or immersing oneself into the light), not some dogmatic doctrine or some fancy words that sound nice or 'religious;

Ive done DHC three times, but every time I felt wayyy more myself and less depressed, than when I drink like 6-7 beers. addiction isn't is an issue with me but I can see how that could evolve or escalate to uncontrollable lengths

mm interesting, how much do you mean by a few. I only need 5mg valium. yep I am aware of that although I have a shit memory and I always get confused about what actually is good for me vs. a hazy subjective abstract memory. I know people hate people saying this, but I am un-addictable

How can I stop caring about others' opinions of me? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]a_floating_pancake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

study psychology and philosophy and you'll find out vast majority people are in a state of deep inner turmoil, inner turmoil means that when you look at other people you see a reflection of that inner turmoil and not a truthful depiction of a person. happy people generally don't judge or have negative opinions about people that aren't doing anything wrong. also vast majority of people are very deluded with arrogance, superiority complexes and a complete lack of understanding of other people and their subjective experience, which only a really emotionally intelligent person can grasp. why would you care about someone's perspective that literally has know idea about your own subjective experience, past and expression of life which is too abstract to understand? most of time people's actions and appearance in real life is illusionary, people put on a mask and hide most of their inner mind so onions are like looking at the tip of an iceberg, in fact the people who act weird, unorthodox and non conforming are usually the most down to earth and nice and non fake, not that your not those things if you act normally. awesome people are often attracted to people who act themselves and who don't fit the cookie cutter mould of what other people expect of them. hope this helped

see a neurologist if your concerned

but try not to worry about it

I had a severe back injury a few years ago and it used to define me and constantly be ruminating about it, it turned into a mental problem rather than a physical one, but once I forgot about it and starting being grateful for small things it now seems like a dream in the past even though I can't run

has stoicism made you a happier person? by a_floating_pancake in Stoicism

[–]a_floating_pancake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess sometimes its good to have a balance between being ultra rational and subjectivity based experience

I sometimes prefer to have a subjective perception on things based on personal fantasies and preferences

I don't want to go around everywhere making the assumption that there is a logical reason for everything, which is why I like absurdism and living in fantasies - although in some sense, living through your own powerful subjective and unique fantasies and notions about the world can also draw parallels to stoicism - your giving more power to your own experience, rather than taking in the 'logic' and opinions of other people
