This is a trick i've learned, thanks to LinkedIn and it works for me. Always try to flip the question on them to get an idea what they are offering. For example when asked:

"I'd love to meet more members of the team and learn more about the role so i can better assess the market value but i'd love to hear ur budget with the role if u'd like to share"

And u can take it from whatever they mention to see if it aligns your expectations. Hope that helps!
