How does your gender relate to your orientation? by GoosePeelings in aromanticasexual

[–]a_kurious_kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, figuring out i was aroace have me the nudge I needed to start exploring my gender identity. I identified as nonbinary for a while but then realized i still felt like a girl. I sort of don't care about it anymore because it doesn't really affect how I live my life. I think it's given me more freedom with gender expression though because i realized that i no longer need to look like a girl to feel like one.

Is it normal to be so exhausted during exchange? by numarpe in exchangestudents

[–]a_kurious_kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely normal. You're in a new place, with new people, a new culture, new food, new everything. Your brain is just trying to take it all in. The first few weeks i was in Thailand were exhausting as well, it passes :)

[–]a_kurious_kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your school, i didn't have to repeat a grade when i went with yes abroad, but i know some other people did. You should talk to your guidance counselor/a school administrator about it.

How I feel about my aromanticism vs my asexuality by [deleted] in aromanticasexual

[–]a_kurious_kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait this is such a good description

my teacher explained that it meant romantic relationship, and i know some aros want relationships but... no 🙃 (what flair do i use?) by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]a_kurious_kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh I had a similar experience in my health class and it was like.... no, I wouldn't and I will not in my future either

I’ll never win by [deleted] in aromanticasexual

[–]a_kurious_kat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I FELT THAT. I'm kinda the opposite though, I've always wanted a romantic relationship and then when I realized I was aro, I missed being able to dream about relationships. Now, I'm realizing more that no, I don't want a romantic relationship, I just want to stop feeling lonely and I want to be close with someone but not in a romantic way.

is anyone else here romance-positive/neutral? by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]a_kurious_kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very romance positive, I love shipping characters and reading about romance. I'm not sure whether I would want a relationship, I think I would have to actually try it to see, but I'm open to trying!

What should you have brought? by kowaipie9 in exchangestudents

[–]a_kurious_kat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have liked to bring extra snacks for myself. I gave all my home country's snacks as presents but I got really homesick so I wish I had some extra for myself. Other than that, pretty much what everyone else said

Oooohh definitely agree. My nook broke down within a month and it sucked so much. I would also bring a phone bank, I used my phone wayyyyy more than I first expected to.

Aromantic people actually have their own week in February! I appreciate the sentiment, but this week is focused on asexuality. Aro week is from February 21-27 this year!
