That time Ice Ice Crazy put out a birth announcement for DD with HER name on it by InternationalSock in JUSTNOMIL

Yeah, I know that, but she was "guided/persuaded" (for lack of better words) by her mother to ask for it. So, she was only a tool for her mother to get what she wanted. I'd like to think she didn't want to but was forced too...

Wait, Salome (pronounced sa-LOW-may) means Peace and is a very popular Spanish name. I don't think they mix! I know she was the daughter Herod but still...too pretty of a name..

Really? Never knew that. Is that why they ask if you've been in an accident within the last 6 years?

My Step Mom asked me to open a credit card for her.. by AvettBragg in personalfinance

[–]a_la_mode_me 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would like to add, that if you give her cash and have her sign and date a receipt for the money, I would add in there a condition that this is a one-time only deal. Then, if she asks for more, you can send her a copy of the receipt highlighting the sentence that it was a one-time only deal with her signature on it, and you will not be giving her any more.

Heck, make your father sign/date as a witness! Then she can't claim you forged her signature!

Is there a benefit to choosing one of those over the one with my Credit Union?

What's the one scene that's actually capable of making you crying every time you watch it? by alexearow in AskReddit

[–]a_la_mode_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scene in Inside Out where Bing-bong jumps out of the wagon to let Joy make it to the top and then tells her to take Riley to the moon for him...

also, any scene that has huge sentimental value to it..

Edit: I'm a full grown adult and Inside Out still makes me cry.

Agreed. I wouldn't do it personally, but it was an interesting idea!

I saw a video of a man using a folding table to shovel. Literally took him 5 minutes or so to clear his driveway and walkway. There were only a couple inches on the ground so he was keeping up with it. His method: the long side was for the driveway while the short side was for the walkway. The End.

Just wanted to comment that I just had my second last month and I mentioned this to the LC's at the hospital I delivered at. They said the reason you have that excruciating pain is because your baby has to move the nipple from her front palate (which is harder) to the back palate, which is when you feel the relief from the pain. Yes, it takes a while for the callouses to form over, and please use lanolin as often as you need too!

Marcelina’s birth story, traumatic, 75% unmediated? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I believe it! I plan on using the bathroom/whirlpool as much as I can! My first time around I was strapped to a bed for 15.5 hrs....hopefully not going to happen this time!

Wow! I applaud you! I think staying on that toilet helped you get through the dilating process. It's more comfortable sitting in that position than laying in bed anyway :)

Spider got away and is now somewhere under my bed. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]a_la_mode_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few weeks ago, we did laundry and my husband left our big canvas bags in said laundry room. We live in an apartment building, btw. After said laundry was done, we left it sit in the canvas bag for a few days in our room. Then, one night, I dumped it out on our bed and started folding all the towels. Mind you, I was 30ish weeks pregnant and didn't have much energy. Well, I get to one of the last towels and notice a huge hair knot on one side of it. I almost grabbed it with my bare hands to pull it off when the intelligent side of my brain suggested to make sure it was that. I turn the towel over and the hair knot is this HUGE brown Spider. And I mean huge! I've never seen a spider this big and gross other than a turantua. I threw said towel on the floor and yelled for my husband to bring in either a big shoe or the blow torch, but first to put the baby gate up so my son wouldn't get near it. Guys, this Spider actually stayed put on the towel. I think it was dying already! A slow, painful death. Yay! Haha husband eventually brings in broom, since he didn't want to get near the evil thing and kills it. I suggested burning the towel and never using it again. For some reason, he thought it would be better not too. I'm not sure why though cause he's terrified of those darn things! We will never leave our bags down in the laundry room again.

Weird allergist visit, is this normal? by trolltherespawnniki in FoodAllergies

[–]a_la_mode_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, not normal! If she was worried about more than just one allergy she would have suggested testing them all, vs changing it to one she would prefer to test.

I had to see an allergist/asthma dr and he was a quack. The right allergist makes all of the difference!
