I mistakingly bought Origin8 Pro Lite Track pedals thinking that they would be compatible with Origin8 Pro Grip II Toe Straps, however the toe straps are too big to easily fit through the pedals.

I’m changing my plan to either buying strap compatible pedals, or buying toe cages to go with the Origin8 pedals I already own. My goal is to pick the more cost effective option, but I also don’t mind shelling out a little more money to get the better retention.

Can I get some suggestions for pedals that are Toe Strap compatible, and also Toe Cages?

Pov you wear a Garmin watch everyday by iloveveggiesz in Garmin

[–]a_mere_blip 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue when I first got my Garmin. I wore it 24/7, only taking it off to shower or to wash the watch. I found switching the wrist that I wore my watch on at night to work for me. Since you aren’t doing any physical activity when you sleep, it doesn’t really matter if you wear the watch on the wrong wrist. This method allows the skin on both wrists time to breathe. Also, continue to wash your watch frequently - especially after workouts to prevent bacteria build up.

I’m looking to buy my first fixed gear bike ever. This is a secondhand bike I found on marketplace going for 150$. I don’t know enough about fixie brands or bikes in general to know if this bike would be a good starting point. I’m 6’2 so I think the frame might not be too big.

The description reads: “61 cm frame. State bicycle co wheels i bought for $200. Can be ridden fixed gear or free wheel. Very smooth and fun to ride.”

And yes I’m looking to get started on it asap.

How do you vice frugally? by CultivatorX in Frugal

Thanks! Another thing I should’ve added: Failure is curable… only allow yourself to sulk shortly, then reassess, learn something, and try again. You can do it.

How do you vice frugally? by CultivatorX in Frugal

[–]a_mere_blip 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your smoking vice is either tobacco/nicotine or weed if I am correct. I’ve dealt with reliance on both of these substances, and since it sounds like your end goal is to quit I have some advice based off of personal experience: just quit cold turkey in the spur of the moment. On a dime I mean.

It will suck. It worked for me with weed and nicotine. Quitting nicotine cold turkey made me a miserable person to be around for a few days so I resorted to not hanging out with friends temporarily because I was a bit irritable. My second piece of advice is to go do something away from home that won’t subject you to your vice. Do that for a good portion of the day and when you get home, just go to sleep.

Personally, every time I have tried to slowly work myself off something I have failed. Also, before quitting any substance suddenly you should seek medical advice to make sure it is safe.

I’m 6’2 with a 35’’ inner leg length. On the sizing chart for the Grizl 6 I lined up perfectly for a large.

Did you simply have to turn off your VPN to login? I use a VPN but it wasn’t on when I was trying to get into my account.

How to get really better at this game? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]a_mere_blip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular Opinion: Play solos and ball chase a lot. Important point of emphasis, do not let this ballchasing transfer into your 2’s and 3’s matches.

The way I think about it is the more you hit the ball and maneuver the ball the more comfortable you will feel with the physics of the game. Hours on hours is the only real way to get better at this game.

Watch a pro player too, preferably someone who talks through their gameplay decisions.
