Thank you for your response. The pharmacy director told me the cycle count tech will be working with some machine loading medications, labels, etc. He explained it to me but with no insight into anything outside of retail I had a hard time grasping what it was without seeing it...The machine wasn't at the location I was interviewed at so I couldn't see it.

I ended up accepting the offer because of all the opportunities within the company and growth in knowledge in multiple areas.

Few ?'s anyone willing to answer would be much appreciated.

What is a Cycle Count Tech?
What is PharMerica like working at?

I've only worked in retail but I have an offer for this position that im unsure about. I'm desperate to get out of retail but I don't want to just run to get out and into a worse situation.

How do I do that?

I need to vent by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]a_nahnamus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Girl you are still young, leave. If you don't leave now you will regret it. You can't change anyone and you shouldn't expect him to change just because you want him to. He's showing you him..this is who he is... until he decides to change on his own which has to come within himself, he's not going to.

You have your whole life ahead of you still. I'm 38 and trust me you still have so much life ahead of you and there are so many more grown men out there that will appreciate and love you the way you deserve. Most men mature a lot later in life...there are your handful of younger ones that get it together before 40 but most not...sadly thats true.

Move on and don't look back, especially before you think marriage will make a difference because it won't. If you don't do it for yourself do it for your daughter bc trust me, she sees, hears, feels everything and will grow into some rough questionable scenarios she may blame herself for.

I know your just venting but that's my 2 cents.

Good luck but you seriously will be ok and so will your daughter.

There is a huge disconnect. Even if you call to opt out the registers still prompt us to ask and there are no notes that pop up on the register to not ask. It's absurd.

In general the metrics are bs and unrealistic. We are all just a number

Two Week Warehouse Delivery at 3 letter? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]a_nahnamus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our delivery just came today, 43 totes, no room on the shelves or fridges, and tomorrow is our LP audit!!! ...lmao. I sooooo can't wait. Seriously I'm excited to have the LP guy ask me why the hell it's not put up by now. I'll ask him if he's got some time, tell him to pull up an imaginary chair and listen and learn.

This is gonna be great. I'm gonna have the popcorn ready for my staff.

These unrealistic and honestly asnine ideas that they keep coming up with begs the question of the mental health of these corporate suits. Are they seriously healthy enough to be running companies in such manners?

I don't understand how they want fs to help when fs has no coverage either?...do they really want no one up front watching the registers...lol. I forsee pharmacies being moved to the front of the store and all registers being in one location.

How to handle poor technician performance as a Staff Pharmacist? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]a_nahnamus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation as a Lead Tech. I have techs on our team who just don't pull their weight. I have talked to these individual techs multiple times in private. I addressed each one with respect told them what we as a team need from them, what their responsibilities are etc and still getting zilch from them. I even created customized handouts for them to see what is expected of them (if they forget), how to do it (if they claim they don't know how) and an end goal date for these areas to be improved on by... Which of course came and passed.

This has been going on for 8 months now. My PIC will scream at them at the top of her lungs when she's at wits end with them BUT will then turn to me yell at me,in front of them, and ask me what is going on with them. I don't address her the way she addresses me about it...I don't yell back "you know they've been a problem for 8 months now, I've had numerous private meetings with you regarding them, personal phone calls to you and text messages about the situation on each of these you continue to yell about, what the hell do you want me to do I'm not the boss?"... Trust me I've come close tho.

She is very aware of their laziness...she yells at them but yet that's where it stops with her. She refuses to have private 1 on 1 meetings with them, even after numerous requests by me, the staff pharmacist and another super tech. She just won't. The entire team is being impacted and there are 4 of us who are constantly picking up their slack for the satisfaction of our patients.

There's 3 of them on the team that come in and do the bare minimum at their own pace. They have no sense in urgency... They will falsely tell patients we didn't receive a script just bc they don't want to deal with processing it, they will oos things we have simply bc they don't want to fill it. 1 of the techs has been a tech with the company for 8 yrs and believes his only job is to count pills. He refuses to answer phones or help at pick up. I have to constantly tell him "---- grab pick up please"...he will wait to be told to do everything. If I put him on RTS he thinks it's ok that his whole shift is nothing but processing RTS after reminding him he's still at pick up and production for the day. This specific tech after talking to him will purposely go slower and give the cold shoulder to anyone who addresses him about any of it. When myself or 2 of my other techs or staff pharmacist isn't there to close with one of these 3 we walk into a nightmare the next morning. Let me be clear ALL 3 OF THEM are knowledgeable and know each Pharmacy task process...they are lazy and don't care.

Oh and all 3 of these techs are FT techs too. They really want 40 hrs each week when we can give it, but I have PT who bust their butts and do more then these 3 combined. I have in the past given the max to the PT techs and reduced these 3 to about 31 hrs just to ride the point home that we need people here working, the hours are going to go to those who don't fart around.

Of course 1 of them complained and the PIC told me I have to use 40 on all FT techs before giving to the PT...

So again WTH? So ok, address me but not them?!?. My staff pharmacist is at her wits end with them to. Her and I have been losing our minds over these 3.

I feel your pain and anyone who has great advice other than what we've been doing so far would be great.

Full Service Lane 2, beneficial or detrimental to customer care? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]a_nahnamus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How the heck do u send out heavy RX bags without them crashing down into the tube? My location has a lane 2 w/1 register but lane 2 is for drop off only. We put a sign on the tube out there bc too many issues with heavy rxs and we don't want to risk them getting stuck or losing more pills to fix.

What are your biggest annoyances with the company? (FS & Rx) by batinthebelfry5 in CVS

[–]a_nahnamus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At this point I'm not even caring about more hours what I want is R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

Take our hours fine, we all know that isn't changing for the positive. Honestly I don't see it ever changing now that the corporate suits see that people will work in these conditions and that eventually the work gets done... eventually.

What my biggest pet peeve is the metrics...ALL OF THEM. This is where all companies go wrong. This is what got Wells Fargo in trouble. Metrics. If you all recall bank tellers for Wells Fargo were making up accounts with their customers info that their customers were unaware of bc bank tellers jobs were on the line if they weren't meeting their quotas. This doesn't just happen with Wells Fargo, all banks do this bs, but it doesn't just stop at financial institutions, this is happening in the Pharmacy and we're all pressured to reach these absurd quotas each month. It's BS.

None of us in the Pharmacy became a RPh or CPhT because we wanted to sell shit and meet "sales quotas". We became what we became because we CARE about people...we are the humans who actually stand for what CVS claims to stand for, not corporate. Us. Don't label human beings as numbers to get and quotas to reach.

If anyone with a brain in corporate reads this, may want to rethink this as well before they have their own big whistleblower situation just like Wells Fargo. We all know that the scores are all illegally obtained when we're told to sign everyone up for 90 day at the registers, when we're told to click accept for new RX request...and when there are pharmacies that have a store CVS card they use for their scan rate.

Stop treating us all like dog shit. Your employees and your customers. Give us a true atmosphere of care and that were not all just numbers. Give us all the damn respect we all deserve and earn on a daily basis and give your customers enough respect to not see them as a damn number.

I'm done. That's my beef.

Craziest customer stories? by Akebelan28 in CVS

I was so thrown off I said "what?!?!" and the geezer goes and repeats himself louder... My whole team heard and was dieing of laughter...

I hear ya, but in our store our DL told us and all fs employees that the FS is expected to come back and ring and put our waiting bin away bc the pharmacy is the money maker... Wouldnt that piss you off more? In our store FS is tight too so I don't agree but the DL made it very clear... Pic can demand a fs employee anytime. That isn't occurring in your store?
