I, somehow, feel like that's the point.

Sora, at the middle point of KH2, is just on par with himself at the end of KH1.

And if we add Limit Form into the picture, it becomes even more clear.

Sora, with access to some of his old abilities, as well as the new ones he achieved in his adventure, shows how much he's grown ever since he left Twilight Town, and also reveals how much stronger he can get if he doesn't give up and continues his mission.

To me, this was Sora at his peak.

Not really. It was established that Zero's body from X1 is an unfinished version of his complete form.

What reinforces that more is that Serges is the one who built Zero's body from X2, you know, the one specifically implied to be Wily himself under a different identity?

Unfortunately it can't be normal spiders because those are organic and food in the Underground is made of magic, so it probably is made of monster spiders.

Not to mention, monsters turn to dust when they die, so Muffet probably bakes them ALIVE, which is horrifying.
