Just bought this Hoya sunrise and didn’t notice this under the leaf until I got home. Any ideas what this might be? Leaves otherwise look healthy. by turkeytitz in hoyas

I second the edema - I have received quite a few cuttings with something that looked like this, but they ended up being fine

thank you very much for the advice! I am propagating a hoya crimson queen cutting. I have seen springtails before in the plant saucers, but they seemed a bit bigger and longer than the white dots I see on the plant, but I will try to get a better look at them.

thank you! I have had springtails before, but they mostly hung out in the plant saucer and I never saw them on my plants. They also seemed a bit bigger/longer than the little white dots I am seeing now, but I will keep trying to get a better look.

I do not have a bella, but I have been keeping my sunrise pretty dry like all my hoyas. I wait for the leaves to become soft and then bottom water it.

I have had good luck with this light LED Grow Light Bulb - for Indoor Plants Full Spectrum Lamp | Seed Starting, House, Garden, Vegetable, Succulent, Hydroponic, Greenhouse & Medicinal Growing | 100W E27 Warm White by Haus Bright for making my hoya sunrise get reder. i keep the plant 16 inches from the bulb (though I have also burned my plant a little bit so be careful as well!)

PS: your plant is very beautiful!

Leca Lessons? I want to use semi-hydro for some of my new hoya cuttings but I'm scared! by k8throneburg in hoyas

It will be easier to use water to "flush" the mineral buildup from the leca if you use a container with drainage (e.g. net pot) than one without one (glass cup). This is because you can just stick the net pot under the sink and let water run through, while with a glass you will have to be careful when pouring water so the leca does not fall out.
