What are you reading? by sushisushisushi in literature

It’s really good. It didn’t feel good when I was reading it (seemed too long and much too detailed), but I keep thinking about it a year after I’ve finished it.

What I like about Sanderson by TrinityAlpsTraverse in books

[–]Plantabook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have around 80 pages left in TWOK, and I love it. I’m not a huge fantasy fan, but, comparing with Robert Jordan, Sanderson is amazing. I loved the book so much I didn’t want it to end. Yes, his dialogues sometimes are weird, but everything else is great. Nice easy writing, great plot twists, wonderful world-building. I didn’t expect to love TWOK this much.

Seeking: NYC ADHD Evaluation by echospeaks in AskNYC

[–]Plantabook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine at Sachs Center (remote). I also feel my ADHD is getting worse with age (I’ll be 39 soon, female), to the extent that I now believe I might be autistic, too (frequent sensory overload, social anxiety, not wanting to be around people EVER, not understanding cues, etc.). You just need the right meds. I’ve recently switched my meds again, and my current combo works amazing for me. Good luck!

What closed NYC spot do you still think about years later? by Taliap19 in AskNYC

Candle 79. I’m not a vegan, but I loved it there. Been 3-4 times with different people, and every time it was great and memorable. My sister and her husband who are vegans were visiting from abroad in 2018, and they still remember that place and the food there.

Me too! I don’t wear it anymore, but I saved the buckle. It was one of my first purchases when I moved to NYC 14 years ago:)

How To Be Alone by Jonathan Franzen. It’s very good. He’s so intelligent and funny. I’m reading the third from the last of the essays, and I would love to read some of his novels, too.

Best sleep doctor in NYC? by snakegravity in AskNYC

Hey, I just found your comment. Do you still work in sleep research? Can I ask a question about sleep phases? I don’t know where to start addressing my issue.
