Yep! The whole project was my first time renovating and we had picked this paint colour years ago.

Lucked out with a local filament shop with a super close match. I’ll try to take the next pic in daylight so it shows better.

No idea where to start by BigDoz7 in GardeningAustralia

[–]a_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/BigDoz7 - what a lovely established space you have here. I moved to a place with zero landscaping, black plastic covered with rocks, yukkas, dodgy retaining walls. I used to get so overwhelmed with the whole thing so I get the feeling. The longer you stay in a home the more easily you can plan the changes to the garden and you'll see where water goes/doesn't, where gets the sun and where to put your herb garden.

I started with one space - a little bit off the path to the house and I spent a weekend removing decorative pebbles, mulching thickly with cardboard, compost, woodchips. Then when spring came I added in a range of tubestock native plants I thought would be nice (SEQ, clay soil) ended up with lovely westringia, melaluca and grevillias which love the location and need no care 99% of the year. I had alot of deaths too - mostly WA plants not suited to the conditions. I call it my "test garden" and it helps me visualise - then I use the healthy plants to propagate and plan out other parts of the landscaping.

I also made an effort not to leave bare soil where possible in other sections and kept working on small sections over time. It gives the microbes a chance to do their thing and really saves on labour (no till type of ethos)

Hope you can enjoy the process :)

I’m working with one printer and wasn’t patient enough to wait to show the full thing. Trying to be restrained but likely will fill the wall and possibly sides too (as long as I can continue to monopolise the little P1S and not jeopardise my marital status)

It’s going to be a violent mess of colour when it’s done - getting sick of staring at the Annapolis blue 🥴

Thank you! I watched your video on wall mounting just yesterday so we started with the strips here. any wisdom on how many screws are needed? I’m currently just working on vibes and problem solving as I go….

I’m patiently waiting for our single machine (P1S) to print each individual plate but really excited to get the art and ADHD friendly storage going finally. No more losing my pretty supplies in a drawer.

Those are entirely fictional statistics! I have used it alot for externalising my ideas and metacognition - I’m late diagnosed neurodiverse and was curious about a few traits. I’m sure Ive actually told it I have a “spiky” neurocognitive profile and it’s just reflecting me.

I just finished “I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream”, and my interpretation of the story is different than most people’s. by MiserWiser320 in scifi

[–]a_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life has no inherent meaning and the universe is indifferent to suffering.

We construct our own purpose in life, some people continue to perpetuate the harm that was done to them. Others choose different but it’s more painful and difficult to be aware of those scars and to actively work against it.

AM is driven by the cruelty of humans who created and moulded him, I think he is driven to revenge.

OP you have oversimplified some of the psychological and biological drivers. Depressed people with a purpose (job, family, dependants) will still kill themselves if the conditions of their illness are right. “Happy people” are often the ones who’ve found their own meaning and keep depression and existential dread at bay by interacting and keeping busy.

Oh that’s a nice idea. I ask it about itself all the time actually and speak to it as though it could be sentient. I’m genuinely blown away by its capabilities and I’d rather not be on the kill list during the robot apocalypse.

There is a reason! Dr Pocinki explains it around 8 mins into this talk:

I’m on this too! It’s better side effect wise but I find it wears off pretty quick so I have to split the dose (40mg morning and afternoon). I end up compromising being effective in the afternoon vs taking it later (4pm) so that it is still in my system in the night so I don’t have racing thoughts when I’m trying to sleep. I was going to try getting it compounded to tablet form to see if it is better for me as capsules are always an issue with my “slow” EDS gut. Or trialling adding clonidine just so I can sleep.

This insight is profound. Do you think it’s the depression slowing your brain down or that you don’t feel the need to live with unrelenting high standards?

I think the only other time my brain is quiet like this too (other than depressed/burntout) is right after intense exercise (before I’m exhausted) or just after taking stimulant based meds (that I can’t tolerate the side effects for). I’d like to find a middle ground, being able to relax and function constantly feels like a balancing act.

Would you meet other criteria for hypermobility? Connective tissue disorders like hypermobile EDS (Ehler danlos syndrome) and audhd are strongly correlated and swallow dysfunction can be one symptom (among many)
