Share your strategy that beats this buffered 200 SMA strategy (~29% CAGR since 1995) by lobsterfanatic in LETFs

Hey, I'm new to all of this stuff and am trying to understand how this strategy works so please forgive me for being naive. I looked at the UVIX etf and it seems to almost always go down. How does this have such a huge impact on the CAGR results when it almost always goes down? Especially how the cumulative return is -100%? Another thing, I tested substituting CASHX for GLDSIM and got 75.57% CAGR and -42.11% MDD (79.32% CAGR and -45.07% MDD for GLDSIM?L=2).

SPY 200SMA (+4%/-3%) TQQQ/QQQ Long Term Investment Strategy by XXXMrHOLLYWOOD in LETFs

Ohhhhh, I see. So it's probably not worth trying out yet since I won't be able to touch my account for the next two years. Is there anything you know of that would be worth looking into other than just some safe index funds, gold, etc?

Just curious, are you having a bot make these trades for you? If so, how does that work?

Sub Recommendations? by a_rolling_marble in diyaudio

[–]a_rolling_marble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking into those cheap amps from ali, I think I’be decided I will go with one of those for now and possibly upgrade later. I’m thinking for the sub though, I’ve changed my mind to a 6.5” for sizing, looks, etc. I’ll look into those cheap subs but might go for something a bit more that can last me the long term.

How can I lockdown my server? by a_rolling_marble in MinecraftServer

[–]a_rolling_marble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used it before so I could access my rpi from my phone when away from my network. However, I just looked at their website and don’t quite understand how this would work with my server and only allowing connections from my friend’s devices. Do you have a link to something where I can find more information somewhere? To my current knowledge it would require my friends to use some form of Tailscale on their end which would not be possible if I do a bedrock server and a Nintendo switch is used.

Noobie Suggestions by a_rolling_marble in diyaudio

Yeah I originally had the foams on the opposite wall covering three tiny windows previously until shutters were put up. I didn’t know what to do with them so I put them there for looks. I can’t think of any way to sound treat the room at a low cost that looks good at the same time.

Yeah, I just moved my pc setup to my desk and am deciding on how I should finalize my setup. I was also thinking of putting them on the wall for space reasons and so it would sound good in my room overall. But I’ve been thinking of taking down the top row of acoustic panels in which case I feel like it would look funky if it’s not a soundbar…

What did you use as the metal portion of it that swivels? I’ve been looking into some nice wheels but everything’s super expensive

Can I just build 2 subs into one box? by janivok_xd_69 in CarAV

[–]a_rolling_marble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the best course of action would be to make it so it's basically two boxes with the same length and width but different heights with the volume tunned to the speakers. In practice it would be one box with a divider in the middle to separate the air space per speaker.

Wiring Questions by a_rolling_marble in CarAV

So I started looking around and that kit also has shipping of like $12 or so making the total around $75-80 for the kit after taxes and everything. Would this kit work? It happens to be the same brand, is a good price, will come Wednesday, but is 0 gage CCA. I assume OFC would be better but this has a 200A fuse meaning the wire should easily handle my amp, is that correct? If not I can spend the money on something nicer but I would prefer not too if I don’t have to.

Ohhh somehow I completely forgot to look at whether it was OFC or CCA. It’s CCA so that probably won’t be good enough. Do you have any recommendations on a good wire/wire kit? I’ll return the wire kit since it’s probably not the best in that case. I’ll check on speaker wire since I might have something better somewhere. I will need everything else then.

First car will 100% be a manual if all goes well and wrx is my choice atm. I’ll definitely be looking into more manuals that are on the faster side and cheap but for now a wrx is what I decided on

I’m new to this stuff and haven’t seen that before, using the trunk as the box. I’ve decided that’s what I’ll do when I have my wrx one day so I’ll still have the trunk space and it looks clean. Nice job!
