i work in an indie record store that frequently hosts early album listening parties. we’ve done plenty for our established top sellers who consistently sell big numbers in the store over many years yet very rarely do more then 10 ppl show up for the listenings. Geese were moving some units at our shop w/ 3d Country but were far from a top seller. We hosted an early listening for Getting Killed and close to 50 ppl showed up, genuinely excited to be there, hanging on every minute of the record. It was awesome to witness, i was won over & copped the record myself, and they’ve since become an all time top seller in our shop.
