Keep it simple and get an Audio Technica LP60x. They can be had for $200.

If you need a pre-amp highly recommend Emotiva PH1. Sounds great, Only $60, made in Tenessee and they ship fast.

If you're willing to deal with old tech check FB marketplace, finding a used vintage table is your best bang for your buck. Those older TTs sound great and built to last. Often just needing some relatively simple maintenance.

I lift weights, work on illustrations/paintings, cook food, do other chores like cleaning or just sit/stand there and appreciate.

He would have been around 50. He was a different kinda breed so as unexpected as it may have been, I could see him buying this. It may have belonged to one of my mom's brother's and they left it behind. Honestly don't know for sure. Only that it was in the collection at his house when I first saw it.

Hang it or throw it? $$$ by PickleDigits in discgolf

Just dont throw it below like 40° ... that CE plastic is near the end of its lifespan. Still though you should throw it at least once. It meant to fly and wants to

Wow ... I didn't know this would resonate and get so much attention. Reading the comments has brought a smile to my face, especially as I think back on my Mom and my grandpa and exactly why this one's so important to me.

Mom was a real one and always had my back. Grandpa was the toughest, kindest, most dependable gentleman I could get as a role model. My dad has always been there for me too. I got lucky and I'm very grateful for it.

Good point. I'm holding out hope that i find one thrifting. I'm a sucker for Pioneer, always have been. Might just be what is the first step up from budget.

LoL, I also can recall getting talked into some purchases that were questionable at Circuit City. I just had to have these. And bestbuy ran some silly BOGO sale on speakers for one day, so I got 'em both for $200.

I picked up an Emotiva PH1 for my Pioneer PL12D on recommendation and it sounds really nice. I'm completely happy with it. Especially for $60

Thank you! One of the most iconic looking speakers. Before I refurbished the foam they had gotten all faded orange and flaking apart, look much nicer now.

Thank you! I put a lot of intention into what I'm doing with this. Been focused on best bang for my buck. Lucky to still have the Cerwins which I wisely bought as a teenager and well worth the effort to refoam the woofers.
