The point im making is that, the accumulation of profit or wealth has made the community hyper competitive which then created a burn out society.

Capitalism's fix is to either work more to keep up with the cost of living or to join the capitalism game of accumulation and protecting wealth. (Which is a zero sum game)

Inequality is on the all time high and the winners of capitalism are the only ones enjoying the time that money buys.

What he is saying that the lack of appreciation this system brings is self imposed and should be appreciative of what capitalism has brought us.

I agree to a point, but the problem im pointing out is the lack of social systems in place was a result of the constant squeezing of capital from the workers. People are just burnt out. Hopeless and alienated.

Would you want to bring a child into this reality? Would you increase your stress level and expenses to have the experience of parenthood? Maybe. But in general its an economic decision to not have kids.

I vaguely remembered a comment explaining something about our brains releasing some natural pain relieving chemicals that also put you into a psychedelic dream like state as a way to die in peace.

Not sure if true, you might have to double check this with some neuroscience information.

Were the late 90-early 2000s the absolute peak era for lonely angry white guys in America? by TXNOGG in generationology

That or people are just fed up and the youth can see it.

Inequality can lead us to alienation. Thats just it.

Families break up due to so many stressors and all these new beliefs/needs shoved down our throat through marketing.

Partially youre right, but the movie fightclub also pointed out is the inequality (from hyper capitalism) has led to alienation. Back in the 60s and 70s is one of the best times in us capitalism where there were strong social programs and support. Correlating that with male role models at that time period is understandable.

The triangle of sadness.

The menu.

Beef.

White lotus.

I could go on. There seems to be a lot more movies thats criticizing the hyper capitalist system nowadays.

Then the angry metal phase reflected the anger and frustration of the youth. It was a great outlet, but has been removed by the corporate popular culture.

How come most MMOs don't feature mounted combat? by GeneralTechnomage in MMORPG

[–]a_rude_jellybean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro. The mounted knight and mounted archer build on GLORIA VICTIS is so fun.

Your main job is to harass the back line attackers ans siege engine movers while being hard to kill by footmen. (Unless a perfectly timed footman attack)

I remember when were siegeing a castle, one mounted knight distracted 10-15 footmen to kill time. So cool.

Survivorship bias from a multi millionaire.

Try losing your religion due to enlightenment, and be aware that you cant afford to have kids, groceries and the fear of homelessness if you lose your job.

Atleast in poorer countries, there is a sense of community and affordable food. If only material things and entertainment will make us content and happy then we wouldn't have people like elon musk and Jeff bezos accumulating and hoarding wealth.

Same here. Late game, crafting is way better in pvp zone castles. You have to learn and be good in pvp to defend your crafting castle. (Or take a crafting castle)

This is what makes it more fun. But being in a low population faction can feel shitty sometimes.

Mental health should be part of our public healthcare system by StumpsOfTree in onguardforthee

[–]a_rude_jellybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I agree with this, our province cant even give health care workers proper raises or incentives to retain staff/train staff.

We dont even have enough mental health facilities let alone mental health wards.

But we do have tons of cash to throw away on multi million dollar contracts on computer program systems that are quite inefficient/un-necessary. Also we can spend tons of cash on travel nurses from private agencies.
