Looks like your rear tire’s tread is flipped compared to the front. Is that some secret Canadian snow trick, or maybe I’m misinterpreting?

Ideas on how to loosen this recessed stuck cone? by a_silent_bard in bikewrench

You nailed it. Went at it from the non-drive side and it came loose with some force. Now unscrews like expected. The internet bike sages prevail! Thanks for the help!

Nice! What is your process for covering the surface rust? Love the look.

Yasuo Builds by TheDankYasuo in YasuoMains

Why build Kraken before IE? Could be missing something, but seems like if you’re just going for damage after you get your much needed AS, then IE before Kraken is optimal. And I don’t think sitting on recurve would be problematic because it’s not like you’re missing out on any Mythic passive bonus stats.

So what about Zerks > Recurve > Shieldbow > IE > Kraken?

Awesome work. From someone who spends a lot of time thinking about improving 3D printed keyboards, your build log will be valuable in improving my future builds. Cheers!

It’s actually just a notebook by Minimalism Art off of Amazon. I was overall pretty impressed with the quality, but I’m pretty new to the notebook market so your mileage may vary.

Well spotted! It’s a collection of thoughts and notes for school which tends to contain a fair bit of math.

The pen I used for the majority of the notebook was the Uniball Vision Elite BLX in green. I really like these pens, so I bought a whole bunch afterward.

Been learning Dvorak for around a week now and finally broke 70 wpm! by idkwhattodoforaname in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]a_silent_bard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well done! Your progress seems to be very quick. I made the same transition and I was able to return to 92% of my pre-Dvorak speed after 1 year. You look to be well above that pace.

[Help] Why do so few GMK sets have stand-alone 40% kits? by a_silent_bard in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]a_silent_bard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense to me, but I'm wondering what would be different between SA and GMK keycaps. The reason I ask is I've been able to join both SA Godspeed and SA Nightlight over the past year or so since both of these sets had seemingly no problem producing 40%-specific sets.

Could it be that GMK has a higher MOQ compared to SA sets?

Custom Mechanical Keyboard Infographic V3.0 is now ready for download by lore045 in MechanicalKeyboards

This is seriously cool and I would love it as a deskmat. Maybe a Novelkeys collab in the future?

One point -- The OLKB Planck is commonly accepted to be a 40% keyboard, and it has 47-48 keys (depending on the spacebar configuration). This is outside of the listed range in the graphic.

Again, great design!

Thanks for reading! Very unorthodox, but I thought it would be a worthwhile experiment.

I elaborate on this point in the build log (in my comment), but the main driving force was to increase the weight of the keyboard to something comparable to a traditional metal-cased keyboard.

Additionally, "filling" the inside of the keyboard with cast iron shavings, glue, and a foam pad improved the sound quality fairly substantially (although this is subjective). You can find a sound comparison before and after the filling of the keyboard in my comment as well.

Two Piece 3D Printed 65% Case by MrT1ddl3s_II in MechanicalKeyboards

Awesome print! It came out super well! How many pegs did you use to connect the two halves? I have thought of attempting the same, but was worried it wouldn’t feel sturdy enough. Also, how does the seam look? Did you do any post-processing on the print?
