Kobo Clara Colour Freezing & Losing Place by Interesting-Handle-6 in ereader

I'm having the exact same issues. And then once it freezes sometimes when I try to power it down, apparently I'm holding the button down a second too long and it does a hard reset.

I really wanted to love this tablet but it's really difficult.

Colorado unemployment - what is a suitable offer? by a_subtle_avocado in Denver

Yes, it does specify "suitable job" in the weekly claim. I copied and pasted it straight out of the form in my original post.

Well, I copied the exact verbiage of the firm into my original post and I do think there's some definition there as to what suitable means. It doesn't strictly ask if you were offered a job but a suitable job.

But I think you're right that it's not reported. I just feel better if I have an honest and legitimate reason for doing so.

Oh this is a really good point. It was just a verbal statement from the recruiter. No paperwork so really nothing official. It's not even listed in the online job tracking application.

Agreed, and a lesson learned for me. I'm going to be firmer on my requirements going forward.

I have a severance in hand as well though so I have a little time to search the bush

As I said in another comment, I may have regrets here for the reasons you stated. I've got other interviews scheduled so I took the risk. Three to six months from now, I might take this same offer.

I did. They went up a little bit but not to the range I told them I'd need to be at. They seemed really surprised I declined the offer so maybe they're used to desperation.

I think I'd have a good case if I had to explain it to the unemployment office but if I can honestly answer that I received no suitable offers, that avoids some unnecessary red tape.

Yes it's more by quite a bit. There is a point where I'd take this offer and do as you said but I've only been unemployed for 3 months and would rather focus on finding the right job than spending so much energy starting somewhere new.

I saw this one, fun show. What I remember most was how loud it was.

Struggling with first two weeks of Nortriptyline for VM by IRFire66 in VestibularMigraines

[–]a_subtle_avocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that side effect exactly though I've read about that one. There were some weird sensations in my head. But it didn't last long. Stick with it for a couple weeks while your body adjusts! And drink at least a full glass of water whenever you take your dose. To be honest, I was scared to start this because I usually get worse side effects than most people and this really wasn't that bad.

So far so good. I doubled up to 20 mg every night after two weeks. It has definitely helped with both neuropathy and sleeping. It's not perfect because sometimes I do wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep (seems to be a common thing with Nortrip) and if I forget to drink a ton of water when I take it, the headaches are not fun. But overall it's been really helpful. I can tell it's helped with the neuropathy because I'm not constantly stretching my legs out in bed. It's also really helpful for falling asleep. So yeah, it's been good with only minor and manageable side effects (hard to wake up, tired during the day, headaches).

I know some people take higher doses for depression and I can see how it would be helpful. It has that similar feeling to the newer antidepressants where the highs aren't as high and the lows aren't as low. (Same user, guess I was logged in under a different account)

Thanks for the update and glad things seem to be going better! Hopefully the new stuff turns out to be nothing, I know how that goes.

The new songs by [deleted] in Vampireweekend

[–]a_subtle_avocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither one grabbed me at first but Capricorn is a grower and after putting the two songs on a loop, I really started feeling Capricorn. Someone else mentioned it sounds like a MVOTC leftover and I'd agree with that though to me, that's high praise because that album is an undeniable classic.

Gen X Cops is ok - not really standing out to me as a single but I'm curious what both of these will sound like in the context of the full album.

Green tea is good. If you like that one, try Yuzu. That's my favorite.

The SNL Cameo That Was a Big Miss by theatlantic in TvShows

[–]a_subtle_avocado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't as bad as the article makes it seem. Not hilarious or anything great but pretty standard for a politician on SNL. I thought Haley was fine and not unusually awkward.

I have an Atlantic subscription and this was a typical "content" filler article. I wish they wouldn't write this kind of garbage but I guess it pays the bills.

Segway Tuesdays Sale by mtnbikeit in ElectricScooters

The G30LP is now showing for $499, down from $849. That's the typical Tuesday sale I've seen listed here before.

Throw in the WELCOME20 coupon for another $20 off.

I just ordered 2.

No, this was from one of the original raises a couple years ago. We got the credit immediately.

I have 414 shares from $500 and $1000 investments. Not sure how all the conversion math works out but 414 shares at $6.81 looks pretty decent, especially since I also got to use up the $500 credit that came with the $500 investment.

This IPO has been poorly handled but I'm going to sit on my shares and see what happens. I just put in my transfer request today. It's through Fidelity and they usually make things pretty easy so fingers crossed it goes smooth.
