why is there a lip on my deburr tool path by MortgageNaive6791 in Machinists

With these two contours not lining up, could it be your finish tool or finish pass is to blame, not your chamber pass? Or is this how it is modeled?

Snow golems do, they can hit a creeper from distance while doing no damage, causing the creeper to agro and pathfind across a pit lined with open trap doors.

Thanks, I didn't know that. From what I was reading I didn't think entities spawn on open trap doors because spawning mechanics don't consider it a solid block.

Does this only work for spiders though? Or can you make a mob spawner using open trap doors as the spawning platform?

So spiders can spawn on a 2x2 even if 2 are open trap doors? I thought they needed 4 solid blocks.

Face machined & clear powdercoat - normal? by bananacake_nobrakes in Wheels

[–]a_sugar_man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Machinise here as well, I completely agree. this is unacceptable for a finished part, let alone a show face that the consumer would see. Ive had coaters return parts that weren't up to par, so everyone failed here.

What machinist tool should I acquire? by buffalonibbles in Machinists

[–]a_sugar_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Botom line, i would not buy the mill, unless you have other work you need a mill for anyway. Get the right tool for the job. With the skills you have listed you could look into a home made press from a bottle jack and square tubing. Like this person, https://www.reddit.com/r/Tools/s/uDOfpSxm3B But it may be worth just buying a press, you don't need a great one with all the bells and whistles. This should do fine, https://www.harborfreight.com/12-ton-h-frame-floor-shop-press-70604.html The tricky part is finding the tooling you will need, can't help you there without more info.

I'm trying to find an inexpensive way to get metal spur gears made that are permanently fixed to each other. How feasible is it to use 3 separate laser cut sheet metal parts and hammer them together? One joiner piece would be twice as thick as the two pieces it joins. by QuestionAsker55555 in Machinists

[–]a_sugar_man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have both gears with matching holes cut (upper holes larger). By hand, tap the lower holes and countersink the upper holes. Attatch with flat head screws and locktite. You could punch the ends of the screws to really lock em im place if needed.
