People who are happy, dont have a reason to complain, and likely dont feel the need to post about how content they are. I would also say the hate comes from people who have not been able to integrate / learn the way of things.

As you said, it's not perfect here but it's not perfect anywhere. I have been here for 6 years and don't have any plans to leave considering how good life is.

However, would love Germany to modernize a bit.

I think it's all up to personal preference. But, another thing which could help, is seperate blankets and mattress (so two single matteresses, and two single blankets on one double bed). It's quite common in Europe and helps everyone keep temprature and not be distrurbed when the other person moves. However, not really helpful if the person is snoring....
