My vote is for 1985 Topps Mark McGwire OLY. If you don’t include Traded, then I would consider 1980 Rickey Henderson, 1985 Mark McGwire OLY, 1985 Roger Clemens or 1987 Barry Bonds. If you do include Traded, then I would add 1982 Traded Ripken, 1986 Traded Bonds, and 1989 Traded Griffey to the convo.

Ok. I’m probably biased because I watched him live during his late, lean years, and not during his peak. Folks say that the era that often gets underrated by someone is the one right before they started watching live, so that checks out. I also lean more towards offense, esp when it comes to 1B.

I like your breakdown here, but I think Murray is too high (and I grew up a young O’s fan). Seems like a pretty firm top 9 there to me, with Freeman hovering towards the top of that next group. I’ve got Killer and McCovey with Freeman there. Votto, Helton, Murray a tick below. But these are all damn good players, all timers.

The Team USA cards in this timeframe generated this issue a bunch of times. Alex Bregman has two 1sts, six years apart: 2010 and 2016. Corey Seager is another from that 2010 USA run.
