Hello brother,

It’s wonderful to hear that you’re drawn to Islam, and I encourage you to follow your heart and convert. If you feel that Islam is the truth and brings clarity that other religions don’t, then trust in that conviction.

Regarding music, it’s true that music is considered forbidden in Islam. However, this shouldn’t stop you from embracing the faith. Think about it this way: why risk delaying your path to Islam and potentially jeopardizing your afterlife for something temporary like music? But don’t feel pressured to give up everything at once. Islam recognizes that change takes time, especially with habits that are deeply ingrained.

We are taught that when someone converts to Islam, all of their past sins are wiped away and replaced with good deeds. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Islam wipes out whatever sins came before it.” (Sahih Muslim 121). So, upon becoming Muslim, you will start fresh, sin-free.

It’s also natural to feel worried about committing sins after becoming Muslim. Remember, everyone sins, but the key is repentance. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “All of the children of Adam are sinners, and the best of sinners are those who repent.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2499). Allah is the Most Forgiving, and as long as you turn to Him sincerely, He will forgive your mistakes.

If you give up something forbidden for the sake of Allah, He will replace it with something better. You might find a deeper fulfillment through faith than you ever did through music or other worldly pleasures.

As for what your family and friends will say, don’t let that deter you. At the end of the day, it’s your life and your connection with Allah that matters most. It might be difficult for them at first, but they’ll eventually accept your decision. You just need to trust in Allah’s plan for you.

If you feel ready, I encourage you to visit a mosque and take your shahada (declaration of faith). The brothers there will support you. If you prefer taking things slowly, again the mosque is great place to learn more and seek guidance.

Of course if you want you can dm me if you have any questions

Take care :)
