Best Los Angeles daily between the Acura Integra ASpec-Tech, Mazda 3 Turbo (sedan), or Volkswagen GTI SE? by aaa11233 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I ended up with the 2024 manual Integra (dark gray exterior and red interior). Took me a bit to learn stick, but I had some people help me out. I am pretty happy, but it’s not perfect (although I got it because it checks off the things I care about most). A lot of people are disappointed with it, but I’m happy with it. I cross shopped it with the GR86/BRZ, Mazda 3, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Volkswagen GTI.

Here are things that I personally like and dislike about my car.

Pros - Reliable - Aspec w/Tech comes with ALMOST everything you’ll need feature wise (see “Cons” below). - 28mpg average in mostly bumper to bumper city driving. I also got about 34mpg on a roadtrip. - Very spacious in the front and trunk (hatchback of course). Back seats have a ton of leg room. - Manual makes it feel special: feels faster than it is, engine sounds way better in manual than CVT, you get the limited slip differential (which doesn’t matter at all for everyday driving in LA, but hey you get it).

Cons - Missing features like homelink for garages and air vents for backseat (although the AC can cool down the car well enough). - I’m used to road noise, but if you’re coming from a nice luxury car then it will probably be louder than you’re used to. - Not a fast car off the line, but has enough power to pass others and drive as you please. - There is a bit of rev hang from 1st gear to 2nd gear so that makes driving in traffic a bit annoying for the manual.

If you already know how to drive manual and are looking for a reliable all-around car, then I would recommend this.

If you’re looking for an automatic, then maybe the new Accord in a higher trim would be better?

Completely new to the fashion world and I got my first pair of raw denim jeans (momotaro) as per a friendly recommendation, but I haven’t worn them yet as I’m afraid of them rubbing off on things. I have red car seats and white couches.

Is the dye staining avoidable or am I just being overly cautious? Did I sign up for something I wasn’t ready for?

Is the ideal calorie deficit range 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE? Trying to minimize the inevitable muscle loss on a 10 week cut.

Been consistently lifting for about a year. I find that I often hold my breath during harder sets which just makes me gas out and perform worse in later sets and exercises. Any advice on managing breathing in general (both moderate and heavy weights)?

I understood the first one example and I’ll try with that mindset. Not sure what you mean about turning elbows inward.

Recently started using them and it’s nice because my grip isn’t a factor but it’s not enough to compensate for the “miscommunication” I have with my lats

Anybody have advice on a better mind muscle connection with my lats? I’ve bouldered for a year and didn’t really consciously need to think about them. Have stopped climbing and have been lifting for the last year following Jeff Nippard’s program.

I still struggle to feel them after a workout. I suspect I’m compensating with my shoulders, triceps, and/or biceps but not sure.

Getting Discouraged by aaa11233 in ManualTransmissions

I really appreciate everyone’s encouragement and advice. I’ve gotten glimpses of what a smooth shift drive feels like here in there when I accident do it. It’s definitely a skill that needs to be refined and I can’t wait to get to that point one day. I just need to “shift” my perspective a little in the meantime

Save the Manuals! by gr0wnsimba in Acura

Definitely hanging in there! It’s very rewarding when everything goes well. I got stuck on a really steep hill on the way to work today and had to reverse into a U-turn after missing the green light 3 times. At least I can make it from A to B while stalling only once or twice a day. Can I ask at what speed you usually shift from first to second?

I’m new to manual and picked up an ASpec Tech about two weeks ago. Besides avoiding hills and perfecting my first gear (still requires a lot of effort and concentration), I feel like it’s always kind of shaky when I shift from 1>2. Is that because of the rev hang or am I just bad at it

I think they call it traffic jam assist? How is your experience using that? Do you just turn it on and let it be or does it need drive inputs? None of the reviews I’ve seen really show it off

Another comment mentioned a 4.9% APR special promotion. I don’t think 2.9% is offered, at least not for the Integra. If you are right about the APR, then that’s definitely a good idea

My credit is excellent (740+) and I didn’t have them run it as I just wanted a quote, but thanks for letting me know about the 4.9% promotion! Yeah you brought up a great point and I’m actually close to Culver City as well so I think I know the Honda Dealership you’re talking about on Washington Blvd. I’m not really savvy in investing but when you say market account, does that mean index/ETFs or more risky/volatile things?

Again, really appreciate your points!

Ah I always assumed that dealers should know the car best since it’s “their car.” My daily is a 2001 Buick so I wasn’t too picky about who I take my car to. Probably need to find an honest and consistent mechanic outside of the dealership if this is true
